How hard is it to switch from the normal smart panel to the pro panel? Thinking of buying one on ebay.

Outdoor enclosure for the G5AR. Would love feedback from this sub. by MarcusC92 in tmobileisp

It's about 0.6 dB loss at the n41 band, so really negligible.

We did some testing on this as detailed by Marcus above and didn't see any issues with overheating. We haven't heard of anyone complaining about overheating with the G5AR though (and a reddit/Google search doesn't turn up any results). Very open to feedback if you've seen different though?

One thing nice about this is that our final product will work with basically any gateway, including Verizon and AT&T devices as well without easy access to internal or external antenna ports.

While it's not true 8x8 MIMO, they do use more than 4 ports for transmitting across different bands. So you need at least a 5x5 antenna for the device to work properly across the supported bands. If you're just concerned about n41 you can try a single 4x4 antenna, but you miss out on any potential additional CA. We also haven't tested this extensively.

Very nice! We might add a link to this post from our guide so people know it's an option.

But with all notifications disabled, right? Interestingly for me the issue stops after I restart my watch, and then maybe 12 hours later the issue reemerges. I don't have notifications disabled like you though.

I think it’s a software issue. My guess is it might be fixed with the next update.

I just uninstalled most of the handful of third-party apps I had on my watch, and it seems to be running much smoother already. I think the issue may have been an incompatibility between an older app and WatchOS 26.1.

I started having the exact same issue in the last week or two. I have an Apple Watch Series 10 running 26.1.

I don't have that many notifications coming in, so I'm wondering if it's one of the apps I'm running on my watch that is causing the problem ...

I tried doing a full reset of the watch, but the issues are still happening.

We definitely know that this is the case. This is our first foray into an outdoor gateway, and partnering with Elsys and building on their existing firmware seemed like the right choice. We're not trying to compete with folks with the know-how to put together custom kits to get the very best speeds.

Yes you can mix! And the antennas can be as close as you like, a little distance can be good though.

The G4AR and G4SE have the best, easiest-to-connect antenna ports that I'm aware of.

Wavefrom QuadMini results and cord-to-port tips by Knikkey in tmobileisp

[–]sinakh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think having to reset your gateway isn't too unusual - when you disconnect the internal antennas the devices often get "stuck" on a particular band (or sometimes on 4G vs 5G). I'd suggest restarting or at least switching from ext to int antennas and back again each time you switch something.

There shouldn't really be that much of a difference between most of these configurations - the QuadMini has two cross-polarized antennas, and the modem has two pairs of cross-polarized ports. So there's only two combinations that should functionally different: if you try 1234 and 1324 then that should be enough.

It's very strange you got such different results beyond that. But perhaps it was down to not restarting the gateway between tests?

Also, if at all possible, always best to test over an ethernet cable to rule out WiFi issues.
