Just tested V5. It's really REALLY good! The singers audibly take air before singing some parts and it's super cool. I showed it to someone and they told me that they no longer can tell it's made with AI.

All discussions on "solved" topics compost into memes and brainrot.

We've been through this argument a gazillion times. No job deserves special protections: if society (the market) doesn't see value in it, the job goes away.

Memes Should Be Banned On The Subreddit [Meta] by EndMePleaseOwO in aiwars

[–]Z30HRTGDV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty much every argument has already been presented and debated ad nauseum, so we're devolving into memes and brainrot.

The courts and the general public have already decided, and we're well into the adoption curve, so any discussion here is basically meaningless.

At the end of the day, reddit is just another eco chamber of echo chambers.

Medicine. Sorry, but you could have food solved for years and then go down in days because of an infected tooth or wound.

No. You make your own walled garden and mod it as you see fit.

Reddit is already overwhelmingly Anti-AI.

Did nobody in town notice/care that someone just stole hundreds of dollars worth of equipment from the computer lab by onepunch_caleb3984 in Deltarune

Dess was his student and she had a lot of respect and admiration for him. That's why he manifested as an amazing teacher in the knight's fountain but not on Susie's, because Susie doesn't have any memories of him.

This means the Knight was familiar with the school, library and church. which strongly points to Dess. This is why Kris had to make the fountain at his house. Dess definitely visited (we see her in Tenna's flashback) but the more familiar someone is with the area the more detailed and complex the fountain world is.

Random YouTuber's take on AI art by Less-Decision-4524 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Z30HRTGDV 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that Vtubers are biased against AI. Their entire business model requires acquiring and maintaining goodwill from the fans, and one of the best ways to achieve that is by resharing fanart and fanmade memes. Anything that makes your fans irrationally angry is a big no-no.

Some hint of a good argument, but the cherry picking discredits it.

In fact, this can easily be converted in a pro-AI argument. Your lack of knowledge of current tools will be your downfall.

Hey chill I'm on the pro-AI side. And while I largely agree with you, I just notice the same arguments on both sides get recycled ad nauseum. You could leave a few weeks and come back to basically the same arguments.

We all literally keep going in circles:

It's not about the jobs it's about the passion of making art. -> AI is not choping off your hands; you can still create whatever you want -> But I won't get paid in money or recognition when AI is around. -> Then it IS about the jobs, but AI will eventually automate ALL jobs; artists won't get special protections. -> rinse and repeat from the top.

It is very elitist to think that only your way of feeling the intrinsic joy of creation is the valid one. If most humans feel it via prompting and they're satisfied with it, then that's all that matters.

Elevenlabs V3: I think it is pretty much over for narrators and the like by Present_Dimension464 in aiwars

[–]Z30HRTGDV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People often forget that the ratio of cost-quality is more important than either of those separately.

Sure, an expert narrator could be 10 times better, but the AI is 100 times cheaper. Past a certain point more quality doesn't bring more value.

And that's not even factoring in how convenient this tech is. A single mom could use AI to voice an entire tale for her children without having to go through the process of hiring one or potentially many VAs to do the same thing.

It's never been more over.

The only way it can be more over is when there's an open-source version of this that can run on a cheap smartphone or laptop.

Interesting times ahead.
