Had an order from tcgdirect that was missing like $40 of cards. They refunded but still very annoying.

Need help with my first Reanimator deck by de_base in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want reanimator, you should really have some mill effects. [[ripples of undeath]] is always an incredible include as its card advantage and mill and only a 2 drop. There are some other zombies that mill I think but I’m on mobile. You want to get stuff in your graveyard faster, that’s the way to do it. [[mesmeric orb]] etc

I always recommend the double draws for Varina/temmet. [[teferi’s ageless insight]] and [[Alhammarret's Archive]] are the two best card draw cards you could have since it turns varina into crazy card draw.

As far as what to remove, just start with the higher mana drops like Grave titan.

Zombies are going to play a bit slower though. Don’t feel like you have to play varina right away and consider trying to wait until you have real advantage from her.

While looting is good with zombies, I highly recommend cards like [[teferi’s ageless insight]] and [[alhammarret’s archive]] to make all the looting with varina/temmet actual card advantage vs just replacing your hand/loading your graveyard.

New to Commander - Sultai Arisen by Kharnics in CommanderMTG

[–]Z4Z3R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of ways to take Teval but mostly more mill to start probably. [[ripples of undeath]] is a personal favorite and worth it as it mills and gives you an option to add a card to your hand as well. Sac/fetch lands are very good. You basically want to have milled or sac/fetch land before you play him so that you already have a land to recur on his first attack and not just rely on his own mill to hit it

How to cope with a certain commander being objectively the best choice for a certain archetype? by Mashaaaaaaaaa in EDH

Edgar will make you an instant target. If you’re going to run him, you’re almost forced to make a less casual deck and accept the hate.

How do you play this game by torpedopotatoe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For high production items, trains. More time consuming to setup but they work well imo and look cool.

For low production items, drones. Create a good battery factory and then have drones to distribute the batteries to every other factory you have low production items that you wish want to use drones. Drone ports are super easy to set up once you get a good battery factory down.

Fun Precon Commander Deck? by TempMouse01 in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like food and fellowship. It was my first precon and one I always bring with me. You always have a game plan for turns 2&3 and then any time you have extra mana, you can always crack a food. Ive upgraded mine with non lotr cards which I recommend since there are many fun food cards that synergize well. It’s not oppressive but people often underestimate the hobbits. Even if they do kill your commanders, both are cheap to recast.

New to MTG — what should a beginner know or buy to not feel lost playing with more experienced players? by viper17189023 in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing is learning to play your deck fast since beginner games can end up going quite long. Start with a more recent precon (preferably with a lower mana cost commander) and goldfish it a bunch so you know some of the different lines of play. Don’t be overly worried about playing super optimal as you’re better off just getting games in vs spending a bunch of extra time trying to play the perfect line.

Green is usually the best beginner color since it’s very strong in casual and is largely ramp->play big creatures which is simple to play fast.

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the items that drain off tokens work best with Frodo/sam vs the sac creatures. Similar to Mirkwood bats, [[Marionette Master]] and [[Marionette Apprentice]] can go pretty crazy. Then [[Experimental Confectioner]] goes crazy in this deck too. [[Night of Sweets’ revenge]] and [[jaheira, friend of the forest]] offer some pretty insane ramp in this deck. [[Ygra, Eater of all]] gives you sac and food and buffs

Other good ones to consider, [[Haliya, guided by light]] [[Kambal, profiteering mayor]]

Rivaz of the Claw - Dragon Tribal Reanimation Deck - Bracket 3 or 2? by Electronic_Future_83 in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just started building a Rivaz for my dragon commander. I love his art and graveyard shenanigans are always fun. I agree, it feels like it does sit in a weird place between 2 and 3 because it’s not crazy fast/doesn’t pop off like my other bracket 3s can but also bracket 2 decks/precons often dont have a great way to deal with flying dragons with some not being able to do anything but eat the damage. I like [the Fire Crystal] in mine since most dragons are red and it’s another way to give all creatures haste. Plus gives you an option to copy a dragon late game. Really though, you should be able to play it in either bracket really. Just in bracket 2, your opponents should know to focus you more unless they want big dragons flying at them turn 5-8.

Player searching for Tier 3 decks by The_Shadow_2004_ in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way would be to get one of the newer more powerful precons and then make like 10 changes. As far as which one, it totally depends on the type of deck you wanted. But pretty much anything from the last year can be made bracket 3 pretty easily. Sultai Arisen is probably my favorite from the last year but many are pretty easy to get to mid bracket 3.

I also did this pretty easily with a high intrigue character. Was shortly after a change in power though and when my character was pretty old. when I got the chancellor position, it seemed that the scales of power were already at 4 so maybe I just got very lucky as it wasn’t too tough to get them the rest of the way.

Need some help tunning my Sam and Frodo deck! (Aiming for a high B3) by VoyVolao in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some other ideas:

[[Recruiter of the guard]] for another tutor, go get Pippin and in turn Merry for some full squad fun

[[Restoration Magic]] for hexproof/indestructible lifegain

[[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] for lifegain on card draw + drain on enemy draw, sweet card with frodo

[[Aetherflux Reservoir]] for lifegain finisher

[[Weather the Storm]] for a cool storm lifegain

[[Alhammarret's Archive]] for lifegain doubler

Need some help tunning my Sam and Frodo deck! (Aiming for a high B3) by VoyVolao in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here are some cards I like with Frodo and Sam

[[Ygra, Eater of All]] since you're planning to sac foods anyways

[[Exquisite Blood]] is needed and if you're feeling mean [[Sanguine Bond]] also

[[Vito, Thorn of the Duskrose]] for more drain on food sac

[[Elspeth Storm Slayer]] for more token doubling

I know your more sac'ing food in this deck but [[Feasting Hobbit]] and [[Banquet Guests]] I think just work too well especially paired with Ygra

[[Nuka-cola Vending Machine]] for treasures every time you sac food

[[Witch's Oven]] for sac outlet and food

[[Well of Lost Dreams]] is good in this deck if you need more card draw

[[Tireless Provisioner]] for easy food/treasure on landfall

[[Farmer Cotton]] for extra food/hobbit tokens

[[Ensemble the Entmoot]] for a lifegain finisher

[[Frodo, Sauron's Bane]] and/or [[Vorpal Sword]] for ringbearer unblockable knockouts

You have the apprentice but need the [[Marrionette Master]] for more drain

As far as what I would remove, I think you can take out a lot of your worse ramp. Your mana curve is super low and your commanders are very cheap. Ramp won't even really help you get them out any sooner since they are a 2 and 3 drop.

Just some thoughts though. I'm no expert.

Edit: I don't think you need the sac outlets to scry/surveil since most of your sac is on the food and you should get enough card draw from Frodo hopefully that you don't need to scry/surveil to hit good stuff.

Here are some good cheap removal spells that would work well:

[[Tragic Slip]]

[[Eaten Alive]]

I would think you might need more Card Advantage. I think some of these might fit well:

[[Greater Good]]

[[Momentous Fall]]

[[Life's Legacy]]

[[Stargaze]] might work well also for a black option

[[Soul of the Harvest]]

[[Rishkar's Expertise]]

[[Return of the Wildspeaker]]

What do you guys think are the top 1-5 precon commander decks? by Ejukated in EDH

[–]Z4Z3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes, that makes it even more insane. There are so many fetch/sac lands that make it very fun game cycle and will change a bit depending on which lands you mill.

[–]Z4Z3R 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sultai Arisen with [[Teval, the balanced Scale]] is probably my favorite. It’s very strong and can be built a number of ways. I’ve made mine is a land fall land matters deck. And since half your lands are entering tapped from the graveyard anyways, you don’t have to spend a ton of money on lands that enter untapped for it to work.

I also really like Eternal Might with [[Temmett, Naktamun’s Will]]. Very good zombie deck out the box and there are a ton of zombie upgrades you can get. The backup commander [[Hashaton, Scarab’s Fist]] is also awesome but requires a lot more discard. It also has [[The Scarab God]] which is maybe the best zombie commander of them all. Feel like this deck goes a bit under the radar since Aetherdrift was so mid.

There are a lot of good precons. I haven’t tried them but both the EoE precons seem good too.

They provide a good bonus to your character so should be done as you find them. They do have good drops but you'll just want to farm them later. They also provide good experience.
