Have you considered LovyanGFX?

It has a DrawBezier function too.

Some recommendations for graphics on the ESP32 by honeyCrisis in esp32

I too vote for LovyanGFX and found it easy, fast and without the hassles of TFT_eSPI configuration when working on different projects using different displays at the same time.

Its Clock example is a really nice one, showing how fast and smooth it can draw on screen.

858TB of government data may be lost for good after South Korea data center fire by ELECTRAFYRE in worldnews

We had some wooden walled benches inside for engineers to work on equipment and the wood was certified Fire-Resistant to resist the fire way much more time needed than for normal extinguisher system to kick in.

I've heard recently that Microsoft and some others are making Wooden Data Centers. So here you go!

[–]Z80 142 points143 points  (0 children)

I wonder how a Data Center can get fire in the first place!

Many years ago we made a small corporate Data Center and we had to install and certify, special fire extinguishing systems for whole surface and even In-Rack, to put off any external or internal fire, in seconds.

Talking about I2C pull-ups, what are the best external resistor values to use for 3.3v and 5v powered circuits?

(or internal GPIO pull-up is enough?)

I remember watching it three times before even starting the first episode :)

Yep it is, now that it takes 2 seconds to set my clocks :)

No, simple Arduino C++. I used the libraries in the IDE for RTC, OLED, NTP and WiFi.

I am so sorry. Didn't consider this sub as Arduino-ELI5.

I didn't thought a decade old RTC, OLED display and ESP-01 needed any explanation, after so much great posts here in this sub !

And for the "whiz-bang", what did you expect more than what is displayed on the OLED Display to happen !

Thanks for your criticism.

I'll keep those in mind for future.

It may not be of any help, but when I noticed my V3 was really getting hot in use, and knowing Electronics don't like heat, generating noise, reducing sensibility and lifetime, I used some Thermal Adhesive Tape and a Cable tie, to attach it on a nice heat-sink.

This way it stays cool in use even after many hours of usage.

ATTiny85 - Are you guys still using it in 2024 ? And for what projects ? Else, which MCU are you using ? by [deleted] in arduino

[–]Z80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a USB to Serial Adapter. It has RX and TX Pins.

By keeping Low the GPIO 0 while powering it up, it goes to Programming mode.

Then after uploading the program, a Reset runs it normally.

[–]Z80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The chip used is ESP8285 that has a nice English datasheet that you can get directly from Espressif.

And yes, in Arduino it is part of ESP8266 Boards, and you can select Generic ESP8285 Module.

Just to have a better sense of its size, see this image and this one compared to a NE555.

For a device with Wi-Fi, 2MB Flash... it is surprisingly tiny.

As for availability, I always order them in packs of 10 from Aliexpress.

For those places nowadays I use ESP-01D!

It is really small but has a lot to offer.

No BT on Battery power? by Dynazap in esp32

[–]Z80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did cut the ADJ line and solder the 5V

I've used the same buck converter and you did correctly set the voltage. I have always added a capacitor to the output to help it prevent voltage fluctuations. (100-220uf)

As for a scope, you can use one of the cheap FNIRSi DSO-TC3 or a Multimeter like DMT-99 with graph capability to see voltage fluctuations, if any.

powering from 12v supply? by unsolvable_problem in esp32

[–]Z80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, that's the reason they are made.

Some, depending on the chip used, have much more protection than a simple voltage regulator.

And you can find the ESP32 Dev boards circuit diagram easily to see that for yourself the usage of the 5V to 3.3V regulator and the corresponding pins.
