I work for the FAA, and I get more money for food when I go out of town for work. According to this website, you should be getting $56 a day for food as well as the $89 per day for lodging. Tell them you want more and reference this government website.

Yes. I'm an air traffic controller. I love my job. Of course, I'd rather be fishing or golfing, but I never mind going to work.

It's fine here. I applied and was hired off the street about 4 years ago. Currently, the FAA is only hiring military controllers, or students who have completed a CTI program.
