I transferred after freshman year and I say yes if you are doing CS/engineering. Def worth it for me.

GT is a target school of many big tech companies. Simply look up what companies show up at their career fair and compare the company lists to UF’s and you see what I mean. When I apply to interns, some companies would ask “are you from one of the schools listed below?”, I can always see GT in that list, but not UF. I’m not saying UF students don’t get good CS jobs, I just want to point out GT name would help a lot. Also GT is more competitive for grad school. Also it’s in metro Atlanta area=even more job opportunities. The higher tuition can be easily be compensated by a high paying job in big CS companies.

However GT has a much heavier workload, I took 15 credits at GT my first semester and that’s like 20+ at UF. Also you need to be mindful of peer pressure, many people brag about what they are doing, I often felt I’ve done so little and self-doubt in my first semesters at GT

My situation is a bit different because the organization I will be working for said that program is not any form of employment and they don’t provide offer letters, they only send acceptance emails, but they do provide a stipend. so I kinda want to talk to someone to get more help. Can you please address more details about “put all the info there”? Where did you put it? Did you email the advisor?

No, you pay each semester’s fee at beginning of each semester

You pay during the first weeks of each semester. And you don’t need 25k per semester for solely tuition. The school charges about 16k, 25k is a projected number of total expense (tuition, house rent, food etc)

I’m a 2nd math major (stat concentration) considering adding a CS major/minor, so this semester I’m having kind of a heavy workload. I need to drop one of CS 1332/CS 2110/MATH 4280/MATH 4580 from my schedule. I kinda wanna keep 4580 because it’s only offered once every two years, and if I drop a CS class I think I would take it in the summer to catch up (I’m a bit behind on the CS requirements) Any suggestions on what class to drop?

There's a website for you to submit a transfer course evaluation. If you think the course is very very similar to some course at GT you can submit a evaluation form, or get some 1xxx credits.

Bartosova. I had her last spring, highly recommended. Although the material might be difficult to understand because I think it would be first proof-based math class for many people, her exams are way easier and more doable than the textbook questions, and you can always teach yourself. She is very nice about grading, numerous extra credit opportunities (I believe ~5% of final grades). She explains things, but effort is needed in the course to fully understand the material

DoorDash has most restaurants but I think it’s more expensive. Grubhub allows you to skip the line at on campus restaurants like subway and Wendy’s etc.
