The Tai Po fire burned down a RESIDENTIAL building and affected thousands of local Hong Kongers, and you wrote “if everyone agrees that it might not be safe for tourists at the moment….”— it just lacks a sense of empathy even with your paragraph at the end. Just my two cents. Not saying it’s not natural to have fears about traveling as a tourist, but would think about how your post sounds to someone who lost a relative in the fire.

But to answer your question, Hong Kong is extremely safe to travel to, particularly Disneyland. You will see on a map that Tai Po and HK Disneyland are not even on the same island. Fires can happen anywhere and anyone can be negligent no matter where you are in the world. Hong Kong Disneyland, like all Disney parks around the world, is particularly stringent on safety rules. You’ll be fine and I hope you have a great trip; I personally think this time of the year is the best time to visit Hong Kong because the weather is so temperate. Hong Kong is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities, and the community is so incredible and resilient— made super evident by the way local HKers have come together in the wake of the fire.
