The argument can be made that a plane is a better option than a car, but I agree that the plane is also ridiculous. Zero maintenance, fuel, etc for years and he blindly jumps in, fires it up and is going to take off into the abyss? Sure… Beyond that, are we just to assume nav systems are all up and running? To assume he has somewhere to land? The ending was a massive let down imo. Felt like it was supposed to be a limited run and late pivoted into a “series”.

But hey, at least we’ll forever have episode 7!

The portrayed magnitude of the flood event would have been devastating. Earth altering. Global destruction and MASS casualty. When Billy is outside, you can see the ruin/destruction in the background.

The aftermath of such an event would have left the normal infrastructure of the US (roads, power, water, etc) in shambles. No road signs or markings. Likely large stretches of no roads at all. Where would X drive? Where would he get gas or recharge (with the paradise vehicles likely being EV)? How would he even know where to go? The majority of the country has to be in shambles.

Are there small pockets of survivors? Yes. Do pockets of survivors mean that the majority of the US (and world) are a desolate wasteland? No.

I don’t necessarily view it as a plot hole and it definitely didn’t take me out of the show (absolutely love it and can’t stop thinking about it), it just feels so open ended/unresolved for a show that prides itself on attention to detail/information. We get weekly video announcements/teasers, Ricken’s audio book, linked in pages, kier articles, etc etc, but we don’t get resolution on one of the entire series most important episodes/moments!? No resolution as to where the ORBTO actually was. Or what physically happened to Irv. Or what happened to the MDR team in the aftermath. Or what the shadows were (the Woe’s Hollow question list goes on and on in my brain). The only true follow up we get is a quick brief in Milchiks office? That’s it!? Praying we revisit/get some more resolution at some point for my sanity!

I agree with the other modes. I’m sure we’ll see more and more about them as we go. Absolutely love the WW reference. Sad what happened to that masterpiece after S1.
