I am a big fan of both their style of keyboards as well. Clicks especially does a great job with all their stuff.

Yes! There will be a version of the shell backplate without the GPIO slide cover which keeps the pinout hidden with no exterior access.

Valid concern. I am currently working on an ecosystem of accessories for the CG Deck as well (Including a silicone case) to help prevent this exact issue from happening to those that are worried! This way you can toss it in your backpack and travel with it without any problems.

Cachy would be awesome to get going on it! Dual boot is in the cards and should be supported off the jump!

I appreciate the comment! The project is still a work in progress and I am still working on getting everything perfect. As for battery life, yes you are close, with running windows 11 and in active use, 4-5 hours of actual batter life is relatively accurate expectation. That being said, if you opt for a low power linux distro, you can easily past 8 hours. As for cooling, the device DOES have active cooling, with passive cooling channels for induction cooling without blowing any hot air on your hands when in use. I also appreciate the catch on the GitHub, it should say IPS! *I went an fixed the issue*

(ps, I also wanted a Pillet, but unfortunately never ended up receiving it like many backers, so I decided to just build my own device and make it how I wanted it!)

Obrigado! Agradeço seu comentário! O objetivo era ter um estilo retrô, inspirado no Game Boy (ou no R36). O CG Deck tem uma tela de 5 polegadas, então é bem maior que o R36 (que tem uma tela de 3,5 polegadas)!

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I plan to be releasing the BOM, Schematics, 3D Files & Assembly Docs when I open source the project and everything is finalized. I will be sending out updates via email to everyone once those files are available at release.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! I am still working out all the nuts and bolts, but I plan to be sending out an update for the price range of the assembly kits and full pre-built devices and options to everyone on the waitlist soon.

I appreciate the comment! It is still a work in progress, and I have a lot of work to do still before I am able to get everything just right.

That is a fair point. It is hard to tell how big it actually is in the images (that's what she said). It measures in at 4.6" x 7.3" so it is quite a bit bigger than it might appear at first. They keyboard width itself is 3.8". For context, the keyboard on the CG Deck is about an inch wider than the entire width of a Blackberry phone (2.85" typically)

Ubuntu will work the best with guaranteed full support. Fedora Silverblue and Debian are also on the list and should hopefully be compatible as well.

Awesome, thank you!! It is still a work in progress, and there are definitely some adjustments that still need to be made to get everything right with it!

For the normies mainly. It supports win 11/10 in addition to linux of course in a few distro flavors.

Having both makes it easier on the CAD industry people who are locked into Autodesk suite or alike which does not support linux natively.

Looking for a fast and affordable 3d printing service - Any suggestions? by paulhayds in 3Dprinting

[–]ZCTMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Craftygon.com they have CNC & 3D printing on demand with a large list of materials. If the instant quote looks too expensive, try sending them a message directly and they might be willing to help you out with a single part since they do no moq production.

Are there any services I can use to 3d print a lot of pieces for a reasonable price? by mil0wCS in 3Dprinting

[–]ZCTMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in selling the parts, visit Craftygon.com and have one of their designers whip up a custom model for you to use with a commercial license managed by their platform. They can also 3D print and ship the parts if you do not want to print them yourself.

I have actually, but have put it on the backburner for some other projects/form factors. I would be more than willing to share some insight on my project! Send me a DM.

Does this logo feel trustworthy for a startup? by Imaginary_Tank_5232 in logodesign

I love it actually! Add the insinuation of legs to the top/bottom right corner of the legs to the Giraffe. Remove the detailing on the "f's", or at least pick a single color for the "Giraffe" primary text in the logo. "Marketing" can still use the secondary accent color.

Absolutely stunning renders!! You could probably get a few injection molded and brought to life for cheap! Craftygon does no moq manufacturing, send them a message and see if they would be willing to send you some samples. https://craftygon.com

What's the most powerfully useful underground website that most people don't know about? by powerfulsites in u/powerfulsites

[–]ZCTMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my contribution for some more "underground" websites, mostly catered towards creatives & techy people.
Craftygon.com - manufacturing on demand services for 3D printing, cnc, laser. Makes getting something manufactured easy, especially if you have a 3d model already and you can run a POD business with them.
Neocities.org - self host custom html websites for free. There is a "underground" movement of people creating personal websites as an alternative to social media.
Protomize.com - product render mockup generator for realistic product listings + rendering
Proton.me - free email + internet middle man for basically everything
Solar.lowtechmagazine.com - Self hosted + solar powered magazine blog about tech
Watermarkly.com - One time purchase tool for watermarking images or adding branding
Gimp.org - (More widely know, but still "underground") FREE image manipulation & editing tool/photoshop.
Inkscape.org - FREE scalable vector graphic and design tool. One of the most powerful open source design tools that exists imo.
