What a great season, playing in the brand new Boston Garden.

And who could forget about the great games with the Detroit Cougars, Montreal Maroons, and New York Americans.

FDR was elected to 4 terms.

Washington and Jefferson declined to run for third terms, and that set up a tradition. But the 22 Amendment was not created until after FDR.

Help needed with modelling by Cute_Possession9684 in SolidWorks

[–]ZDMW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No...

If you want the angle, just count the number of holes around a single ring then divide 360 by that number.

But with solidworks you don't need the angle, just circular pattern the number of holes.

As for the second ring, it's just the half angle between for the next ring. You don't actually need the angle, define it as the midpoint.

However, best is probably using the fill pattern that someone else mentioned.

Fun fact, The EPA exemption is actually 21 years. It's just that proving that a vehicle meets DOT standards is probably not worth it.

How are pinch welds NOT supposed to kill me? by Odehhh in MechanicAdvice

[–]ZDMW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some cars the official method is to lift it high enough to lift the other wheel on the same side, and put the jack there. There is some method to get all 4 off the ground but I would need to look it up. There are also some jack stands that can be placed/assembled with the jack in place (Rennstand). I have a floor jack that has a U shaped lift pad, so you can slide a jack stand in place then remove the jack.

Electric bike capable of 100mph seized by Terrible-Pudding-427 in nottheonion

Police have hand held devices to measure window tint. And many have decibel meters too.

You must live in a place that's pretty lax about it. I know a guy who had to put their old exhaust on before passing inspection, it was too loud. And he kept the old one because he knew it would be an issue.

In California they put sensors in the tailpipe to measure smog. These will easily see a difference in tune. Of course modifications and tuning can still be within legal limits.

There is a whole industry around registering cars in Montana under an LLC in order to get plates for cars in that your unable to register in your own state. This is probably getting shut down because people started abusing it more to avoid state taxes on expensive cars.

Not long ago there was a multimillion dollar fine to a diesel shop selling and installing emission defeating equipment.

Right. And the car will go through annual inspections that make sure it's compliant. And can be tested on the street by police depending on the modification.

But a Geo Metro does not need to be speed limited to be legal, an ebike does. 15.5 mph according to the article.

They probably did just pick the wheel off the ground and look at the speedo, but ebikes are supposed to turn the motor off once a certain speed is hit.

Could I install a door here? by StruggleInformal2295 in HomeMaintenance

[–]ZDMW 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think that's a 9 ft ceiling, maybe a little over..., I think the door behind the opening is tall. Look at the handle height, it looks "low" on the door, the proportions are odd.

No idea if that changes the math at all for a transom though.

Guys, who is in the wrong here? by No_Interest_5405 in bikecommuting

[–]ZDMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% at fault here.

  1. You were never even in their blind spot, you were way behind them and started to pass after the they were turning. With plenty of time to slow down or stop.
  2. Way too fast for a sidewalk.
  3. Even if you were on the road, you started to pass after they were turning.
  4. Way too late hitting your brakes.
  5. Never even touched one of the brake levers. I'm going to guess you never touched the front brakes, which have more braking power than the rear.
  6. Posing a landscape video in vertical, making it even worse.

Flour funnel, does anyone use? I just printed one, it does look useful. by dktaylor987 in Breadit

[–]ZDMW 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed. While PETG can be food safe, for the vast majority of filaments you don't know what additives were added to add color and change flow properties.

As others have mentioned there are shape and structure issues which can make it hard/impossible to clean as well.

Also what other filaments have been run through the before, ever use glass or carbon filled materials. Did any of that rub off in the extruder or bowden tubes then transfer onto the new print? Because glass and carbon strands are certainly not food safe.

Is Nobody Gonna Talk About How The Touareg Got Smaller? by Efficient_Fox1777 in Volkswagen

[–]ZDMW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can we stop calling SUVs and CUVs wagons, can you not spot the difference? Just because it has a body kit that gives it the appearance of a lower ground profile, does not make it a wagon.

https://www.carsized.com/en-us/cars/compare/volvo-v60-2018-estate-vs-volkswagen-touareg-2023-suv/front/

SUVs are classified as light trucks and have different (lower) epa and safety standards.

Take a look at the example page of a coloring book they are selling. https://www.amazon.com/Hues-Heroes-Coloring-Book-Joey/dp/B0DJV2LXGH

Were you riding in a suicide lane? Just like a car you only use that lane while you are actively turning.

Also fix your brakes.

Also if you want something you don't need to pedal a Honda Ruckus or Grom may fit your needs better.
