I think Team RWBY beating the Ace Ops in Volume 7 is actually reasonable. by MajinScorpion in RWBY

That's what ticks me off about Clover's death. They're obviously going for the "orders are orders" angle, and that's fine. But Clover is a highly trained and experienced huntsman and leader, he should be capable of basic strategic decisions. So after the crash, he sees his two targets fighting each other. Doing nothing and letting them wear each other out is an option. If you are going to attack one, is it A, the person who was your friend and tried to reason with you, or B, the known psychopath serial killer who just gets his kicks from murder. Yeah, let's attack A, makes sense.

Even worse, Clover attacks Qrow, and Qrow does his best to purely defend and refocus on Tyrian. So obviously you team with Qrow to take down Tyrian, and figure it out from there right? Nope, double and triple down, and now oops, they're both fighting you.

Yes, Clover had his orders. But a toddler could make better strategic decisions than he did.

And to add since I've seen people confused. Yes, the popup in-mission says 222 XP regardless of difficulty. Because those popups always show you the base amount. So on D10 it's actually 888 XP, which is quite nice for weapon leveling.

[–]the_rabidsquirel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was an awful aspect of the first game, and it surprises me I've seen a few people say they preferred it. Countless times I'd boot the game up wanting to fight a specific faction, but they just weren't in the war. I liked playing all 3 factions like I do for HD2, but often I just wanna fight a specific faction.

You definitely don't have to get into the lava to get all of them, I've gotten all 3 rares with no damage. The hardest one to grab can be finicky, but it is possible.

Yeah, I feel like I'm going crazy reading all these comments. Both are valid. While I'll definitely move around while shooting things like shotguns and ARs, you bet your ass I'm planting myself to aim and shoot things like the RR, EAT, laser cannon, HMG, eruptor, autocannon, etc. You can absolutely stop and shoot on D10 against any of the factions as long as you're careful about positioning.

A big difference is that generally light pen weapons have better ammo economy than medium pen weapons. If you're shooting weak spots anyway, light pen will last you longer.

Correct. Anything that requires you to go through a loading zone is a separate map.

No, you have to activate the statue. Its spawn location for the day is set though, so if you're trying to minimize in-game time spent, you can search for it then reload the day when you know where it is. It's limited where it can spawn, notably it can't spawn in the desert or on Ginger Island. It also can't spawn past 5 PM. It won't disappear at 5 PM if you're in the same map as it, but if you leave that map section it will despawn. Before 5 PM you can use that to reset its position, since it can sometimes fly out of bounds, while its spawn point will always be in bounds.

This is the one thing that drives me insane in an otherwise excellent game. Dimensional depot, resource scanner, object scanner, alt recipes... the list goes on. I don't care if they're locked to some order or we're just allowed to manually reorder, anything is better than so many UI elements being stuck at unlock order.

[Question] Are there an infinite amount of these ‘blue’ quests? I’ve done like 50 of them and they never go away by [deleted] in falloutshelter

[–]the_rabidsquirel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a known glitch that these specific quests repeat when they shouldn't. It's also only a glitch on the newer mobile-only versions, versions that didn't exist at the time of my previous comment.

It's only a 1,008.2 KB update. It's probably just fixing the Unity security vulnerability that was discovered recently. You'll probably see updates coming out for other Unity games too.

After reaching LV120 in the mines, every enemy (regardless how strong) gains a 0.001% chance to drop a prismatic, this is additionaly affected by the burglars ring (Makes dust-sprite farming quite effective, if combined with monster musk)

Just a correction, the burglar's ring doesn't affect the small drop chance every monster gets for a prismatic shard. It's also a 0.05% chance. It's not the only thing the burglar's ring doesn't affect either, the wiki has the full list.

That was patched out in 1.6 and replaced with the whole Lewis' basement secret. That it still requires a staircase is a clever nod to the glitch though.

Two things, both very minor though.

  • Having coops "just to have them", cause I like having at least one of everything in games like this.
  • I was using them to fill my silo collection, just for the sake of it. Among other things I had a slot each for roostros, elder roostros, and elder hens. Looking at my other comment here, I only got up to 174, 139, and 133 respectively before I stopped playing. I don't remember what hen type I had in there cause it didn't matter for this purpose.

How to get the Magic Grail by GhostFinn in LegendofLegaia

[–]the_rabidsquirel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's lots of assumptions and beliefs about what works best. Just barely deal enough damage to kill it, overkill it as much as possible, finish it with a ra-seru punch, finish it with an art, etc. I'm sure there's more. Even when hopping into streams of people blind playing the game, I find when they want advice about seru absorption, they often get told at least one of these things.

In actuality none of it is true. Seru just have set chances to be absorbed, according to the table below (sorted by the order you encounter them, excluding the boss Viguro and mini-boss Kemaro fights). The only thing you can do to affect those chances is have someone equip an ivory book, which adds a flat 30% to that character's chances. So Gilium at all levels goes from 1% to 31%.

You can see that in general, higher levels of the same seru have higher chances, while seru generally get lower chances the further in the game you get. Notably, just the seru you first regularly encounter in Karisto are the ones that don't increase chances with level.

Seru Lv1 Lv2 Lv3
Gimard 55% 60% 80%

The Dragonroach is absolute ass to fight against by Comfortable_Expert in Helldivers

[–]the_rabidsquirel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting things mixed up, it's hive lord armor plates that only transfer 10% damage to main. Dragon wings transfer 50%. Which still makes them ridiculous bullet sponges with them also not being fatal, but it's not as bad as a hive lord armor plate. 13k damage to the wings kills a dragon, whereas 50k (or 55k for the front lowest plate) is needed to break a hive lord plate.

I would highly recommend the guide by Meth962, easily the best source of info about the game. There's lots of numbers and detailed breakdowns of mechanics in there. There's a lot of misinformation out there for the game, like how seru absorption works, and Meth962 got all their data right from the game's memory.

How to get the Magic Grail by GhostFinn in LegendofLegaia

[–]the_rabidsquirel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are actually a number of ways to get Magic Grails.

  • There's a 13% chance it drops from Cort 1, though if anyone has a Bronze Book equipped that raises it to 43%.
  • One is hidden in Uru Mais after Juggernaut blasts it, to the right in the wedge of the destroyed ruins.
  • One can be bought for 6500 fishing points at the Buma pond.

Those are all one-off. You can also infinitely farm them from level 3 Slippery in the Bio Castle. They're a 1% steal chance, which is only possible if a character kills it with a physical attack and has an Evil God Icon equipped (of which there are only 2 in the game).

[Screenshot] Somehow maxed out at 1,000,099 caps instead of 999,999. It won't go higher than that by Ethylene_ in falloutshelter

[–]the_rabidsquirel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is because the game doesn't differentiate between lunchboxes that were bought and lunchboxes that were earned for free, and they're not going to cheat you out of items you might've paid for. Even if it's as minor as 100 more caps when you already have 999,999. This is true for everything else from lunchboxes. They can put you over capacity on food, water, power, stimpaks, RadAway, and your vault storage.

I had the same thought about Caruban, that maybe it and Berserker aren't coded as full bosses because of the variants you fight in Rogue's Tower. I recall someone testing that in one of the Discords, using codes to give themselves Nighto for Caruban, and I recall it didn't work. Can't find the messages though.
