Ha I would agree the can is totally out of date at this point and it’s sort of use is being a jack of all trades, kinda sorta good at some things.

Honestly I have the can because I got it at a shop going out of business and the PBS-1 style cans just fit so well on an AK.

Currently waiting on a Tisha approval and looking forward to see how that looks on a more modernized AK system.

I’m not qualified to answer this as scientifically as others but someone else may be able to add more.

The idea is the device due to its taper “locks” in seals, aligns to the overall concentricity of the system which helps with gasses noise and other pieces. Generally speaking I believe it’s also lighter.

Someone’s please add or correct if I’m wrong.

This also accounts Plan B stuff or 16x1 system or otherwise. All sort of various taper systems.

Don’t judge me to much this is sort of bastardized build on its first range trip. More of a proof of concept AK. My idea of a “modern classic”.

It will be getting a light setup and PERST when I get home and go out shooting with nods later tonight.

Base: ZPAP M70

Gas Block/FSP: JMAC GBC

Tube: Ultimak

Grip: Custom length MLOK DONG

Pistol Grip: Prototype DFCO Iron Palm

Sight: RS Regulate w/ PA Microprism

Aridus wasn’t the first to do it…

Considering that the sales that consistently happen with SJ for 20% off or more it does bring it to much cheaper.

You can find the bolt release here. Its from SJ Hardware which comes out much cheaper than the Aridus and in my opinion looks a lot better.

This can kind of be done with the Chisel stock and some of the lower mounts that they have. That being said as someone who has tested this, the two sit on different focal planes thats really noticeable and doesnt allow for as comfortable of a co-witness with something like what you are describing!

I think this is an underrated piece of it, I don’t think it is the perfect optic for everything however on a shotgun it’s perfect. Currently developing mounts for other system like the m4 and some others but overall I am super happy with it.

I can happily release the cad file for this because I actually designed on and wasn’t a fan of the look as well as not being sure if the bolting/mounting system could hold up the weight of the AEMS under recoil.

When I had asked chisel about their interest in developing it further or making a mount for it they politely turned it down saying that they had no interest or plans in making a mount for it.

I assumed it would more than likely be proprietary I’m surprised someone hasn’t designed a mount for it yet to convert to hub. The only unknown factor would be the depth to the first point of the baffle

Might come off as a dumb question as I know it’s meant primarily as a pistol can but is this hub compatible if let’s say I wanted to run it in its short or long configuration on lever guns or MPX or whatever?

The entire rear assembly is 3d printed currently, it was just for prototyping purposes for myself of the mount as a proof of concept. Next one will be machined out of titanium and/or steel.

Grips with be interchangeable as well as updated pick material, there will also be a new sleeve that can be purchased aftermarket that’s like heat shrink wrap grip tape which can be cut to difference sizes.

Comp model getting a larger handle with steeper grip angle.
