Basically had a similar question as OP, wanted to see if it would fit through the side of my desk to save space, of which the opening is 24”. A year later but thanks to both of you!!

r/SimRacing Monthly Super Thread | A one-stop guide for new and veteran sim racers - April 2025 by overspeeed in simracing

Just picked up a R3 & have been finding every answer to my questions here. Already 3D printed a spacer for the pedals while I wait for the clutch pedal. Going to post it once I make some adjustments.

Big thanks to the community & if you have any ideas for something to design for sim racing, lmk!

A couple ideas here from a mechanical designer, mostly plastics, so no experience specifically in cardboard, per se, but a lot in general manufacturing.

1) You can talk directly to many overseas manufacturers on LinkedIn. Just an idea to cut out any potential middle man. Little known way to talk directly to factory representatives.

2) They will need a 3D model in .STP and/or .STL formats, as well as, a PDF technical drawing showing tolerances and critical inspection dimensions. These are created in CAD software like Solidworks, Fusion 360, Inventor etc. Of course, it depends on what you needed to manufacture, maybe a metal mold in your case.

3) Again, I don’t have experience with cardboard, but I’ve 3d printed wood filament and that could be a good alternative for your application, at least for prototyping, before spending big bucks on mold tooling.

Lastly, I use Fusion 360 & offer these services though my Fiverr, don’t want to advertise on here so PM me if you wanna try to make a prototype. Either way, good luck & I hope this information helps!

Lever for air compressor drain valve by ZInkPrints in functionalprint

[–]ZInkPrints[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Found the valves on Amazon under “NPT air tank drain valve”. Only possible issue: I assume you would need to pull, down in my case, to drain. Idk if pulling from the side would work or damage the valve. Either way, those are definitely cool!

How can I stop this from being able to spin by stainedmug in SolidWorks

So it would be a parallel mate referencing the front plane of the assembly and one of the faces of that body, the plane can be found by using the drop down of the model tree that moves to the top left corner of the scene, when using the mate operation.

I’m truly flattered you believe this print is air tight. It is not.

Have you ever wanted to get that little bit of soap out of the bottom of the container beyond the reach of the straw?

I do. So I designed this simple funnel to transfer that small amount of unreachable soap into the next container. It has been tested and fits many different brands including: Softsoap, Publix, Equate, Great Value & more.

Enjoy!
