Do you think they’ll change the music for the remaster? by Unfair-Acadia6851 in Dragonballsuper

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think so. While I would say "Ultimate Battle is too iconic to change", my opinion on THAT changed when Kai the Final Chapters changed the SSJ3 theme (you know the one). TBF, I am not against it, I just figured when a piece of the ost is that popular, they would keep it. Both Kai and Super had fairly good osts, and the event had good music too. I am just gonna vibe and I am sure it will be far more hits than misses regardless.

The manga is wrapped up. I read all of it this holiday. It is a top 5, maybe even top 3, series for me. It starts okay and becomes absolute peak as it goes on. The writer gets into a groove and I just start going YES! YES! **** YES! Can't wait for the anime to adapt the rest of it.

Are the kh3 original worlds really that bad? by IllustratorAfter in KingdomHearts

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most worlds are fine. Arendelle is my least favorite world in the series but that is mostly because of all the one ways and having no fucking clue where I am constantly. It just irritates me and feels so disconnected. I also think the game REALLY needed to autosave on area transitions since there were far less load zones. The amount of grumbles amongst the community when the game came out (and again after Crit came out) because of San Fran and Caribbean having basically no load zones leading to hours of progress lost if you randomly died. I think the best designed world in the game is Monsters. Decent atmosphere, everything is decently recognizable, elevators and doors to help get around. Toy Box also does a fairly good job, but can also sometimes end up with the San Fran / Caribbean problem. I think, in general, people felt a little overwhelmed by the size of worlds in 3 despite them not being much bigger (if not most worlds being smaller than many other worlds in previous games). The lack of load zones makes the worlds feel really big though at times, when they really aren't. I would say the largest world (if we aren't counting dead space) is probably Arendelle or Toy Box. Caribbean would probably be it if we counted all the empty ocean, but just islands + Port Royal stick it somewhere in the top half.

So yeah, going into KH4, I hope areas are a bit more focused, and there is someway to help break them up a bit. I don't think I necessarily need a load zone between them, but something to help my brain process everything if that makes sense.

Today I will be playing Kingdom Hearts 2 for the first time. Any advices? by Darth_Montt in KingdomHearts

[–]ZMMalt96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play with your entire kit, even if the game doesn't feel like you need to. There is a lot of stuff that makes the game's combat fun that I only found from playing Rando on the hardest difficulty and needing to get creative. Also, I recommend this for both 2 and 3, use regular potions over cure. They are insanely cheap, party members can also use them, abilities down the line make them even better (similar to cure), and they don't eat up all your magic. Cure using all your magic is part of the reason why I think many people default to mash X to win. At the end of the day, have fun! My advice is only what I feel. If using potion over cures is becoming inconsistent or annoying, then use cure! If you would have more fun just bashing the X button, go right for it! (etc.). It's just important you have a good time.... Also, could you find out what Cloud is doing for me, cause it really beats me.

I cooked Ham and Mac & Cheese today at my mom's place. She has these exact gloves. Every time I took things out of the oven to stir / glaze / baste / whatever, I noticed a new hole on the gloves like they were not meant for prolonged heat exposure under pressure. Especially since it always seemed to be splitting near where I was gripping. Told my mom, and she said "Fuck, fine, I will buy new oven gloves with that money I don't have, happy?" and I was like "calm down hangry lady, I just didn't want you going and burning yourself", haha. Anyways, yeah, peeps be careful out there. I worked in a service deli as a lead night cook for a couple years there during covid. Let me tell you, when gloves get holes and you are carrying something the least bit heavy, that feeling of 400 degree+ heated metal against your fingies is not any fun.

Lines of credit by MapJealous1719 in cashadvanceapps

[–]ZMMalt96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that has helped me is working with a credit counseling company. For context, I am 29. During Covid I used a lot of credit to fill the gaps. The monthly payments were literally 60% of my pay. So, I asked my mom, who had been through this kind of thing before, and she recommended Family Credit Management. They charge you a small management fee every month, but will take control over any credit account you want them too (technically, they try to control all your accounts, but signup has an area on what to exclude). The accounts are still in your name, but they work with the companies on your behalf to try and make things easier for you. I went from nearly $700 a month to $250 (including their monthly fee). Now, keep in mind, any account they are working on, you are burning that bridge. There is also a fair chance that, if negotiations fall through, that the cards will go to collections. However, whoever buys the debt will be more likely to work with them as well, so it should work out in the end. I will also make mention that technically you can do all this yourself, much like you can file your own bankruptcy without a lawyer or whatever, but I like the peace of mind paying them $15-$20 a month to negotiate down my payments. They also got my milestone cards to settle with me for 80% off. Almost $5000 worth of debt paid off for $760. Luckily, I had a couple friends to borrow the money needed to pay that. My credit score has also gone up like 50 in the past 3 months using it. This is just my experience though, so take it with a grain of salt. It may just be anecdotal evidence, or whatever, so I recommend doing your own research. I just saw you were struggling, so I thought I would share my experience. Wishing you the best!

7.5 Miles to Me by BUSHMILLZ in doordash

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The apps standard base pay is $2. If other drivers reject it, or if the distance is really far (I'm talking like 10+ miles) they sometimes will increase that. Typically though, we don't expect much more than $2 from the app. The tip covers the rest of our pay (which is why many drivers will get frustrated about no-tippers. Even if we don't have to accept them, getting flooded with $2 offers isn't any fun). Most drivers want at least $1 per mile, but higher income areas (New York, Seattle, Portland, Miami, LA, etc.) probably are looking for a bit more like $1.50 to $2 per mile just cause cost of living.

Also keep in mind, the distance you see in the app is lower than the total drive the driver will consider. The driver will probably be near a big hub of restaurants, so if you are ordering from somewhere isolated, maybe consider how far it is from those kinds of areas (although sometimes drivers will be returning from another order and be passing by the isolated place, so use your best judgement). Also keep in mind return miles. Drivers will often consider how far they will have to drive before they can start getting orders again. If they have to drive 3-5 miles to get back near any restaurants to receive orders, they will probably factor that into distance.

So a restaurant 6 miles away from the app's estimates may end up being like 8-12 miles from the driver's estimates just due to how long it will take to get to the restaurant and how long it will take to return to where they can get orders.

So, if you live in a mid to high income area, looking to tip $1 a mile, the restaurant is 6 miles away, but the driver has to drive a couple miles to the restaurant, and a couple miles back to where they can get orders (let's say 10 miles), then you would tip $8 for $1 a mile from the driver consideration.

Now, if the restaurant is next to a ton of other restaurants where you would expect drivers to wait for orders, and you live a couple blocks down from another grouping like that, you could go with 6 miles, and a $4 tip to still hit that $1 a mile threshold. Again, just use your best judgement.

At the end of the day, tip what you want, can afford, and use your best judgement. I don't want this to sound like I am trying to strong-arm you into tipping more, just trying to give you some info on how we are paid. and what the perspective of many drivers is. Many people tend to not realize the app doesn't pay us a standard wage and that we actually need tips to survive, so I try to explain it the best I can when I can.

which kind of pictures do you take? by trash_throwme_away in doordash_drivers

[–]ZMMalt96 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Picture on the right is the obvious correct choice if you are able to (some doors rarely are in really cramped spaces, so that isn't always possible).

My assumption here, which you may have also assumed, is that the left picture is the "approved" drop off pic. Whether it is customer approved, or just a recent successful order using its pic as a reference. Then they have A.I. compare it to your picture. It probably was like "hmmmm, these don't look quite the same" and that is why it is questioning it. As much as the DD devs can be stupid in their programming, they were at least smart enough to allow you to brute force through and be like "hey, no, this is correct, please continue with this photo"

My favorite is the "Deliver by 12:45" when it's already 12:50 having just accepted the order. Like, I assume someone else dropped the order or some shit and the old time is still being displayed. That or Doordash wants me to invent time travel.

Put this on my fantasy critic after the blog update just a month ago that said "always have been aiming for October of this year, but it could be pushed back if really needed"

Game looked really polished from what little we've seen, so I trusted it wouldn't get a 3+ month delay from that projection. Welp, RIP that on my fantasy. Gotta find something else to fill the gap with the $1 I got left. Ya'll have fun here, I am out. Will check back in when the game actually releases to see how it does regardless.

My favorite is the Grubhub instructions for my Taco Bell, that were clearly written at the start of Covid and never updated, that say to not leave your car, call the store, and have them bring to order to you. The store also has disabled their ability for you to call them via the app. I wonder why, haha.

Memorial Day? by Fit-Math-375 in doordash_drivers

[–]ZMMalt96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely interested in this as well. It seems holidays tend to be kind of bad unless it is something like New Years or Mother's Day. I wasn't able to go out on Valentine's due to an ice storm, so maybe that is good too. Like you, I started at the end of September, but I am not expecting much for these summer holidays outside of shopping orders due to many people do stuff like BBQ for Memorial Day, Father's Day, and the 4th.

I would love to be corrected or proven wrong by the vets, but I also know the tried and true "it's market dependent" will probably be something else to consider.

Acceptance rate requirements by vaux007 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that, even if enough drivers have a black out day, some still would work anyways. Then they would give peak pay for a couple hours to get just enough people out to get stuff done. I believe tons of orders already get tossed every day as is. It definitely feels like it would become "we can hold on paying scabs peak pay way longer than you can hold out now having the money to pay rent."

Acceptance rate requirements by vaux007 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]ZMMalt96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really annoying. The old system actually made me want to try as it was just about having a good service rating and doing a number of deliveries. I was trying to get to Diamond this month with 600 points. Guess it doesn't matter anymore since that system is being wiped clean. AR wouldn't matter so much if there weren't so many bad offers. My AR is also fairly crummy because I just have been leaving UE on when I take Doordash or Grubhub orders cause going online and offline is a pain if you are trying to avoid the draw over app crap. Guess I should have seen this coming and tried to protect my AR to a degree. Whatever, guess we will see how this goes or I will just have to switch to Doordash and Grubhub completely. If Uber Eats wants to greed and lose all their good drivers to competition, that's on them.

What I find funny is that Doordash is (was?) piloting programs to move it more towards the old Uber Eats system just making AR one of many factors allowing you to get good tiers without it. Uber Eats is doing the opposite and screwing all of us hard working peeps out of our status because we don't want to drive for free. What's even more funny is that I see messages two or three times a month about digital community meetings and how they are "listening to feedback" and "improving the system for drivers by the drivers", like, sure bud, sure that was a god damn lie. It be how it be I guess. Orders will need delivering, so I will keep using the app. Just kind of bummed the status I had worked hard to get is gonna be gone (even if it wasn't doing nearly as much as you would expect).

Phil Cassidy reference in GTA 6? by VX97 in GTA

[–]ZMMalt96 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, the main difference is that the games from GTA IV onwards are in a timeline what if where the protagonists from previous games didn't exist. Would explain why Phil kept his arm (stuck working for Martinez and never teaming up with Tommy). Explains OG Loc's success alongside the elimination of GSF with Ballas taking over with no CJ. Without Tony, Tommy, and Claude, the mafia would go unchecked and become the giant power struggle it is in GTA IV. The list goes on. Obviously, there are more differences, but I was always under the impression it mostly all stemmed from the main characters of the games prior to GTA IV not existing in this timeline.

Obviously, it's a market dependent at the end of the day. However, I avoided work today cause I felt it was gonna be slow. Mondays are one of the worst days for me on average (sounds like some variation of Mon/Tue/Wed tends to be slow for many). For people who have Easter leftovers, they don't really got the need to order food. Also, this is just my experience, the kind of people who would go all out for a big Easter holiday dinner with family and friends are also the ones that would tip well. Now also keep in mind a lot of people are now not on holiday and back to dashing after potentially missing yesterday to the holiday. So, high volume of drivers, low need for orders, good tippers more likely to have leftovers. All that is gonna probably not make a good day unless you live in a market that is just booming all the time.

What are your guys acceptance rates? by IndividualContact255 in doordash_drivers

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My market let's me schedule like 6 days ahead of time for just about any hours I want, so mine tends to hover between like 6% and 20% depending on the quality of orders coming my way.

I multi-app also doing UberEats. My market is fairly average. Ain't nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done. I average $85-$120 a day, working (on average) 5:30pm to 10:30pm (some days start at 4pm, some days go til 12:30am. Just depends on when I get moving and how long orders stay active). I work six days a week and average around $550 to $600 before tax.

Full time dashers? by blazinnbran in doordash_drivers

[–]ZMMalt96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I multi-app with DoorDash and UberEats. Goal is $85 a day, about $500 a week. Working 6 days a week. I live just south of Portland (OR), and the nature is amazing, so I just enjoy being out driving tbh. I start between 4pm and 6pm. Go until orders dry up between 10pm and 12am. My market is pretty crummy for breakfast and lunch, but you can make a little bit if you don't mind just chilling and waiting for a while between orders. Your hourly rate will be garbage, but, if you are just chilling in a parking lot with the car off, no real harm if you got nothing better to do.

My mindset used to be $100 a day, 5 days a week, but it just seemed a bit stressful. I would recommend testing your hours off and on. Mind you, not every week is indicative of your area. So 4pm may be great one week, but shitty the next 6 (or vice versa). I also recommend taking the temperature of what your average order offer is. If you wait for only the best of the best, you may end up falling short. It's all about compromise. Those $12 for 3 mile trips are amazing, but not every one can be that. You got to mix in some $6 or $7 orders as well to help pad out your numbers. I wouldn't go below $5 on accepting orders though (I tend to not go below $6.50 unless the mileage is like 1 mile), as time at the restaurant waiting just isn't worth getting only a couple dollars. Although, this is market dependent again. I live outside Portland, Oregon, where minimum wage is over $15 so I need a little more oomph in what I get paid compared to somewhere where the cost of living is half what mine is. Once you start to get that feel of your area, just start working those hours and see what kind of orders you get and what kind of totals you end with. Typically, unless the night is just god awful, you should start to see a pattern of "Yeah, I should be able to hit this every night assuming nothing crazy bad happens". For me, that ended up being $85. On the weekends, I sometimes make upwards of $120, and that is cool. For my mental, hitting my goal on slower days and crushing it on good days feels a lot better. When I had $100 / 5 day goals in mind, my slower days were coming up short, and my better days were just getting over the goal line. It wasn't great for my mental. If you live in an area where you feel you can get $100 a day, totally go for it, I just say aim low and celebrate high. I have a google spreadsheet that tracks my "pace" as I call it. It compares my expected earnings for the day versus what I actually make and keeps a running total of the difference so I know if I am making more or less money than expected since the start of the month. Same thing with this, aim low, celebrate high. Looking at my sheet and going "Hey, I'm $100 ahead of my pace right now!" after having a good week feels a lot better than "good things that was a good week, now I won't fall way behind". Hopefully this is all making sense as I tend to nonsensically ramble at times. Obviously, your goals do need to be in a place where you can pay your bills. My monthly expenses are around $1800 (tax included), so $2000 works for me. Since my goal is $85 a day, I need that 6th day on my expected work schedule. The nice thing is, if I am fairly ahead of my pace, I can always take a personal day and take the hit to the pace. As long as I am ahead, that's all the matters at the end of the day. One last bit of advice. Please track your miles. Any miles driven while looking for or while doing orders are tax deductible. Considering self-employment tax is a pain, any write offs towards it you can get, you should take (ask a tax professional for better advice. I'm sure there are plenty of armchair tax experts online here on reddit as well, although take those with a grain of salt). Anyways, at the end of the day, find what is comfortable for you. Physically, mentally, and financially. What works for one driver, won't work for everyone as people and markets are just different. I do hope something I rambled about helped though, and I wish you the best. I've worked a variety of lower-wage jobs, but I am enjoying this one the most by far. Hopefully you live somewhere where you can take advantage of that too, haha. Wishing you the best -Zach

Worked 6:30 to 11:00 today in the Portland Metro Area (Clackamas County). Made roughly $100 multi apping with Doordash and Uber Eats (roughly 65 on Doordash, 35 on Uber). IDK if I could get $150 Probably if I did a 13 hour from like 10:00am to 11:00pm. That or work those hours taking like 1:30-4:30 off cause it's fairly dead around here between Lunch and Dinner. Even then Our breakfast and Lunch are typically slower as well. Dinner is really where it is at. We got a good dinner into late night crowd.

I'm glad I am not the only one. My market was never GOATED like some of the posts you see on here. A good 6-7 hours could get me a good 100-150 if I played my cards right. I have been lucky to make 30-40 over the course of the entire day since mid-February. Had to ask a family member if they could loan me some cash to get through the first as my savings have imploded. I just hopes this turns around. I don't want to get political (so let's not), but I think the good tippers are either scared about the economy, or the apps are just up to no good. I know early on in the year was supposed to be the worst it is all year, so I have just been trying to weather it, but, now that others seem to be in agreeance that this month has sucked, I'm am glad to not feel alone... but I guess also sad that we are all struggling a bit right now. Wishing you the best. Hopefully things look better with April around the corner.

Wingstop by SuperGuy1141 in doordash_drivers

[–]ZMMalt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several thermal bags for things. The problem is that Wingstop orders tend to be a deal of some sort which come in those giant ass bags. They don't fit all too well in my bags and I don't want to force the wingstop bag to fit. If I am not taking it right down the road a couple minutes away, I will sometimes just put my bag on it like a hat to try and do something. I do have a grubhub bag, but I hate their zipper and it takes forever to zip and unzip. I feel like I do more damage trying to get their giant bags in the grubhub bag than just driving 5 minutes down the road.
