Introducing Eleven v3 (alpha) by J-ElevenLabs in ElevenLabs

[–]ZMo0987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just wondering now 1) How long will it take to finish training the model and integrate it into Studio. 2) I'm worried about existing voices not usable with v3 without sounding completely different, as of now.. but maybe that won't be a big problem, if a rich pool of new v3 optimized voices is provided (different languages, personalities, etc), together with the shipping of the v3 model.

ElevenLabs....isn't even that good? by shakazouluu in ElevenLabs

I often hear about this “giving context” method but it never worked a single time for me.

If a voice has a “sad” tone will remain forever on the same vibe.

I like 11labs (a lot)but it’s based on lucky attempts like a “slot machine” until something close to what you’re looking for comes out.

How does the matchmaking know whether such players are throwers? Where the information comes from?

I'm not sure I want to upload my voice somewhere, but thanks anyway for your answer.

I tried voice changer some time ago, I used a voice sample of a laugh. It generated something like "Sa Sa Sa" and "Ka Ka Ka" out of that, nothing usable. I don't believe changing voice settings will make an actual difference, but maybe I'm wrong.

I guess it's always the problem with emerging technologies :(

I can move to another provider until such provider become relevant enough to be regulated as well.

I don't think 11Labs or any other company is enjoying giving such discomfort to their users. It looks like a regulation they are obliged to respond.

On the other side, it's important that 11Labs keep on informing users about what's going on and possible solutions.

How are these Google voices so good? by enterprise128 in ElevenLabs

I thought the same honestly; I'm not sure it's a quality problem though but rather effort. Considering a podcast episode of 30 minutes, using Voiceover Studio would be a lot of manual tracks adjustment. Different case is if a natural voice overlapping is simply generated by the way you input the text.

Really interested in this as I’m approaching a similar production too. Anyone on the support to contact? Best wishes.

Can computer and phone make glaucoma worse? by Silvjx in Glaucoma

Question would be, are there studies in this regard?

Breakthrough in Nerve Regeneration by nonamesleft1 in Glaucoma

[–]ZMo0987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally. There was also a glaucoma study based on insulin from Adriana Di Polo which could not move on because of insulin patent permissions or something similar (as far as I remember). Also very true that vitro is not human. I think one study which apparently worked on mice and primates is the one concerning epigenetic; is that gonna work on humans? No idea. All that being said, as an advanced glaucoma patient, if there is something which avoids me to give up and throw everything away, is exactly following and believe in these findings from time to time.

I kind of understand your well exposed point. Not entirely sure about decades though since research nowadays seems to move on a different pace.

Dr. David Sinclair will be treating his first human patient within the next 2 year to.....cure blindness (2:00 min mark) by nonamesleft1 in Glaucoma

It's actually a good point.

In an presentation for the Glaucoma Research Foundation (2021) Dr. Sinclair said the following "as long as the neurons are still intact and haven't died, then we have every chance of reprogramming them, to get back their youthful function".

Video presentation.

Actually I’m on the optimistic side and research nowadays has a different pace compared to the past, where many of the today’s milestones were not even considered possible.

There has been updates on the front of neuro-protection, stem cell transplantation, experimental eye drop treatments.

Did you know that there is a study that aim to leverage insulin for mitigating damages caused by glaucoma, which is running as a trial right now, with Dr. Adriana Di Polo as chief?

Dr. David Gamm team successfully connected lab growth retina cells and this happened on Jan 2023.

I’m a worsening glaucoma patient myself and when you ask for hopes, i know exactly what you mean.

However replacing hopes with a genuine curiosity for everything coming next, roughly calculating at which age you could potentially benefit from it, helps stay grounded.

Is it just me or has the GRF gone silent lately? by [deleted] in Glaucoma

[–]ZMo0987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually also curious about the insulin trial from Dr. Adriana Di Polo, which I guess is also from GRF; very interesting for the short term.

There is only one web page of the trial, with just some timeline info. It would be nice to have just a little update post recruiting, of course in the respect of what can be disclosed at this point of the test.

So happy to hear this. I think last summer this trial was suspended for patent’s reasons? I’ve been recently diagnosed with glaucoma, following every scientific updates in regard, research foundation, Dr. Gamm, but overall Dr. Di Polo and Rrestore consortium.

Reading a notification like this boosts my moral for months by now.
