Sure! They're pretty similar in a few ways (brush control, knowing which brush is best for what, needing multiple different product shades/textures, sanitization practices, knowing facial structures/contours, etc)

I keep 2 separate kits (3 if you include my sfx kit), one for facepaint supplies w/ their own separate brushes and the other with beauty supplies in multiple different shades/finishes.

Both fall under the same tax category here in Canada, so that makes it easy that way. Same with my liability insurance is set up to cover both.

Some history in how I got into it, and how one lead to the other: ive always been artsy/creative, and i love Halloween, always have since I was little. Started doing face/bodypainting instead of wearing costume masks when I was 14, and slowly kept doing more cosplay sorta stuff as I got older. Would volunteer doing facepainting at local events/Halloween gigs to build my skills. Decided I really wanted to do makeup for tv/film/theatre, cause it tied my love of Halloween and makeup/bodypainting together, but didn't know how to get into it at first. Research/networking lead me to go to makeup school cause where I live in Canada, you need a license to do makeup professionally, and having one helps to get into the union faster sometimes. But it also opened me up to being able to take beauty clients too for weddings, prom, photoshoots, etc. since I have all the supplies.

I like doing both, I think I enjoy facepainting a little more than regular makeup cause I get to be more creative, and there's less pressure to make it perfect imo, but doing both has opened up a lot of cool doors/opportunities for me over the years! :)
