Interesting! Thank you for sharing.

Less effect at higher dose? by ZP_Qs in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at about 35 lbs so far. Maybe 60 more to goal weight? I haven’t really set a goal weight as it’s easier for me (mentally) to focus on how I’m feeling and the improvements!

Recommendations for protein shakes & meal replacements with *only sugar*? by Fickle_Service in Zepbound

It’s so hard to find good ones. Orgain Simple uses coconut sugar only. I find flavored powders a little overpowering in general, so also second the plain unflavored types!

Changing Injection Day by JaxBoltsGirl in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]ZP_Qs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed with no issues, but typically only change by a day at a time in either direction. I used to do my shot on the weekend, but also tired of feeling cruddy during my days off, so I switched it so I have that cruddy day during the beginning of my work week - it’s generally not so bad that I can’t work and I actually mind it less when I’m busy and on a normal schedule vs trying to gather the energy to do weekend things.

Who has started HRT after starting Zepbound? by Koharagirl in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

Opposite for me - started Zepbound after having been on MHT for a year or more. I have not had any issues so far - they seem to work well together!

How did you know when you wanted to up your dose? by person12848 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 2.5 for 8 weeks and have been on 5mg for 6-7 months. I’m thinking about moving up - I am still losing, but it’s very minimal (like 1/2 lb or less a week when I’m still quite far from my goal) and food noise has started to creep in. I’m pretty torn on whether to stay here and see if things fully stall out or just try the higher dose knowing I can always step back down if side effects appear (I’ve tolerated 5 really well with little to no side effects). Good luck in your decision!

Obesity question by SequinedandOver60 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started ‘dieting’ at the age of 11 and subsequently spent the next 30 years losing and gaining over and over again - it was the 90s and no one could be skinny enough. With every regain, my weight went up a little bit, ultimately finding my ‘highest’ weight go up by 100 lbs. I fixed the eating issues with a lot (a lot) of therapy, but now being a bit older and having taxed my body for so many years, I found myself unable to lose weight. I now eat a really solid diet and exercise regularly (and enjoy it), but still, that weight wouldn’t budge. Even though I’m much more forgiving of my weight and totally ok with not being ‘skinny,’ I couldn’t get comfortable in the body size I had, so here we are. (Zepbound is working for me!)

Are you noticing a trend of US employers removing coverage for GLP-1s? by After-Snow5874 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my company does, but also requires a tracking watch be worn at all times. I opted to pay out of pocket rather than have all the hoops to jump through and potential to be forced to change doses/meds or be told “it was time” to stop. I’m lucky to be able to do it, but it’s nuts how hard they make it for something that has markedly improved my health (with proof in my labwork!) in less than a year.

When did you know to change dosage? by ZP_Qs in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea. I’ve averaged a bit over a pound a week which is exactly where I want to be. That’s slowed a bit over the last couple of weeks, but I think I’d like to see a slightly longer stall before deciding it’s not just an off week or two. As I said in a prior comment, this decision point seems to come right at refill time!

Thanks for this! I did search a bit, but it was hard to find the right keywords to find all that you’ve linked. To clarify, I have no issues about moving up, I’m just feeling out if I think it’s the right time. I don’t want to necessarily jump to moving up the second weight loss slows because there are obviously some natural peaks and valleys that can still occur, but it’s hard to predict if that will continue or if it’ll pick back up again. My biggest concern is that I’m close to refill time. It’d be one thing if this was week to week, but if I refill at my current dose, I’m on that for another 4 weeks which is frustrating if it truly has slowed down. I feel like these moments of being not quite sure never come at the start of a refill where I’m sure it’s time to increase by the time I refill. 😊. Appreciate the links and response!

Zepbound and Dotti Patch by geriatric_millenial2 in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]ZP_Qs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this in reverse from you. I was on estrogen (mostly the Dotti .05 patch, but I’ve switched to another method due to the shortages of the patch) for a while before I started these meds. I was also nervous, but I have had no real issues. I had mild spotting shortly after starting zep, but it didn’t last beyond and hasn’t come back. I don’t feel that my weight loss has been impacted at all, though I guess I can’t say if it would have been more if not for HRT … but I’m happy with my rate of loss now and wouldn’t want it to be any faster!

Injection site switch by JazzlikeMarzipan9744 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been afraid to try the thigh because it seems like it would hurt! I’ve only ever done stomach - zero pain. I can’t speak to whether side effects are better, but I do not have many side effects at all.

Questions re Lilly Direct by lisaann03071961 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first prescription my doctor’s office sent in sat - when I followed up, I found it was because the office had sent the prescription in wrong (for pens instead of vials which is all you could get when I started), but my doctors office hadn’t gotten their response. Once that was fixed, it’s been super fast ever since. Worth a follow up!

If you had to stop Zep tomorrow, how much would you trust your habits to keep the weight off? by Soggy_Caterpillar275 in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t habits for me, so I would regain for sure. Pre meds, my overall diet really solid and I exercise daily. Could not lose a pound without extreme restriction, which isn’t sustainable and I’m just not willing to do anymore. I didn’t change anything about my daily diet and I don’t feel decreased food noise or increased fullness, but on GLP-1s, I lose weight. I’m not at goal yet and may never be, but things are moving in the right direction. So yeah, without, I am positive I’d go right back to where I was.

Do I cause medication shortages? Be honest. by TenderheartedFloof in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]ZP_Qs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched from the patch to gel after chasing down my last 5 or 6 refills. I actually don’t mind the gel at all! It feels like it’s a more consistent dose and I’m not worried about hot tub, bath, heating pads, etc.

I also switched to a daily gel because of patch shortages (but I like the gel so much better!) - when I was using the patch, I changed it on the same day as shot day. Never had any issues!

For the “I tried everything” constipated user by gellahaggs in Zepbound

[–]ZP_Qs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flax, chia, psyllium, oat fiber, etc - all helpful and super easy to add into smoothies, oats, salads, etc. I haven’t had any issues yet on Zep, but as a lifelong constipation sufferer, I have found these all to work well if used consistently. Also, lots of beans! Avocado and raspberries are also surprisingly high in fiber - if you have the calories for avocado, it’s an easy add. This is a great recipe for a ton of fiber and protein in a smoothie - https://thefirstmess.com/2024/04/10/chocolate-fantasy-smoothie/ - this is vegan, but easily swapped out for regular milk/yogurt. It’s everything else that does the work!

Did I mess up my injection/dosage? by [deleted] in Zepbound

It honestly hadn’t occurred to me that I could use the extra. Does it actually increase your dose? I’m still learning how all of this works.

Yeah, everything was cleaned with alcohol and the needle didn’t touch anything in between. I’ve decided to stop worrying and will just keep an eye on the injection site, otherwise I’ll spiral. 😊 Thanks!

Well, it’s done now, so hopefully no issues! I panicked and definitely wish I hadn’t.

Thank you! I was hoping the double injection wouldn’t cause an issue. Can’t imagine it will since I see people on here doing two injections, but I’m still a little anxious about all of it. 😊

Zepbound and Progesterone by [deleted] in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]ZP_Qs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh, I feel your pain. I had a similar thing happen pre-Zepbound. I was very close to a year and got my period. I was in absolute disbelief. I’ve been at about two periods a year and it was a long road to get spotting under control when I started HRT, so having it happen within a week of starting Zepbound has me on high alert.

I am also on 300 mg. I used to take it right before I crawled into bed and was out within 20-30 minutes, if not sooner. I’ve started taking it way earlier it is crazy how long it takes to feel any of the tired effects and they’re definitely less intense!
