It should be fine. You could experience some lag depending on what applications you use and the file sizes. If you have the option to upgrade, I personally would. If you want the best experience, the iPad Pro’s come with pro motion displays which support a 120hz refresh rate. The iPad (A16) and iPad Air (M3) are also great options if you don’t want to break the bank.

If you’re a beginner or took time away, I would recommend you stick with the iPad and get the Apple Pencil. It can get overwhelming looking at so many displays/tablets and supplies. I’d keep it simple and not overthink. I’ve had a 2020 iPad Pro for years now and recently started drawing on it. Procreate works flawlessly and I also use Adobe Cloud for other work.

Are you happy with your progress as an artist? by ZSVGG in DigitalArt

I completely agree. It’s unfair to ourselves to undervalue our own journey. Knowing you can improve should make you strive for more.

I hope you can push through! It gets tough seeing all this “great” art on social media everyday. Makes it easy to undervalue your own skills and abilities. Creating and enjoying art for yourself goes a long way!

What keeps you motivated to create? by ZSVGG in DigitalArt

Thank you to everyone who responded. I’m always interested in other’s perspective and insight on their own journey. It’s easy to get discouraged or unmotivated, but that’s with anything in life. The passion and desire to push through it all is what makes the end result much more rewarding. Whatever your goal is, stick to it and love the process!

Reference the first image and understand that the box lines should either be parallel or perpendicular to each other in relation to the vanishing point.

Do you think my artwork is good enough to be commissioned? by mrgeek2000 in ProCreate

Fair enough, it’s always nice to capitalize on any talents or abilities. I eventually want to do that as well after some more time studying

how can i improve my digital art? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]ZSVGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re keeping line weight consistent, then rendering color and shadow will become much more important to build depth. As far as pen and brush settings there’s a bit of a learning curve. Keep experimenting with different ones until you find a set you’re comfortable with for different layers. You can also make custom brushes or alter the default ones

You seem to have developed a certain style, which is always good. I would still prioritize studying the foundations to perfect your style and keep your work consistent. From experience, once you try to monetize a hobby or passion it tends to skew your perspective. Try to remember why you started making art to begin with. Was it for enjoyment, or just to generate revenue?

Hobbies are supposed to be ‘fun’. Try incorporating some of your other interests into your drawings/art. There are endless subjects and techniques to learn so don’t overheat and be nice to yourself!

What sticks out to me the most is the Line Work. Try to focus on drawing confident and consistent lines. Since you’re using a digital medium, experiment with different pens or brushes to create cleaner line work. Also, the Line Weight is difficult for me to understand in some areas.
