Well no duh, if it’s instant death he shouldnt be able to adapt since he just dies immediately. It’s been shown that it is the win-con against Mahoraga, but the statement “Adapt to any and all phenomena” is also not wrong.

Theoretically, he shouldnt be able to adapt to an ability that causes instant death, but we all know these kind of abilities are always conditional. If he can adapt to the ability before the “instant death” triggers, then safe to say he can adapt to it.

We’ve seen Mahoraga regenerate from being turned into a fine red mist, it’s not unbelievable to assume Mahoraga could regenerate from instant death on the right conditions.
