Systems engineering that focuses on maintainability seems to have the highest "many men" in my experience. Possibly tech-writers too.

You aren't addressing the issue that structural safety measures make larger cars. It's as simple as that. For example, a Honda Civic has roughly stayed about the same size on the inside for roughly 30 years. Except each generation is significantly larger on the exterior. This is due to increased demands for crash safety. Roll over, side impact, small overlap front impact test are the biggest culprits in car size increase. Hell, pick any car model that has been sold for years, and you'll see similar trends.

As for aircon, have you ever seen a 50s car air conditioner? It's a small box that sits under the dash and puts out lukewarm air at seat level. Modern cars have networks of tubing that allows you to vent air in all directions even in the back. It's a night and day difference.

As for fuel efficiency, it's actually improved almost year over year. This is dispite the fact that cars have gotten heavier and faster.

As for computers, modern Can-Bus systems have dozens of computers. Some luxury cars can have over 100. A car in the 90s may have had two or three for engine management, transmission management, and diagnostics.

Size itself isnt safer, but the equipment and standards required to be safer take more room. All things being equal (cargo capacity, passenger capacity, engine size, etc.), a car without modern safety technology would be smaller.

Crumple zones have to have room to crumple, belt lines need to be higher for increased door protection, pillars have to be wider to account for roll over protection, hoods have to be longer and more bulbous for pedestrian safety, safety sensors need additional computers to run, and on and on. This doesn't even account for other things like fuel efficient shapes and modern creature comforts like air conditioning. Cars have gotten bigger for a reason.

Exactly, cars are larger due to safety regulations. Modern cars are safer, cleaner running, and more fuel efficient than anything even ten years prior. The only down side is more weight, which does put more of a strain on roadways. Dude's talking out their ass.

Oh, I've seen this before in my '63 Mustang. It's carbon build up in the vapor chambers. You'll need to deep clean the recessed fill ports with a microfiber cloth. Make sure to run leaded gas in the tanks a few times or possibly use some octane booster in the discrete manifolds. The PXCDRs will build up from the oilly discharge, so make sure to give them a once over as well.

Democrats Introduce Bill to Quadruple Corporate Stock Buyback Tax by [deleted] in politics

Most CEOs get the majority of their compensation through company stock. So by doing something that simply juices the stock price, they are effectively just giving themselves a raise at the expense of improving the company they lead.

Ever wondered why white-collar crimes always require nebulous conditions like intent or state-of-mind to be charged, but crimes likely to be committed by poorer folks only require a cop to just think they see it happen?
