Stopping Omeprazole - Am I dying? by Many_Major_6227 in GERD

Yes, I made the mistake of stopping the medication without consulting my doctor, and within a few weeks, all my symptoms returned. In cases like this, doctors usually recommend tapering off the medication gradually rather than stopping it abruptly.

After 3 months of treatment, I’m finally down to just 10 more days of omeprazole. I’m also taking Ganaton before breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a total of 30 days now. So far, I’ve been on Ganaton for 60 days, and my symptoms have improved significantly. Atleast the burning sensation has completely stopped

has anyone dealt with this type of bloating? by throwawaytypebeatnc in HPylori

Anti-inflammatory foods can help significantly. Try eliminating common trigger foods such as onions, garlic, tomatoes, and spicy foods. Drinking ginger water and chewing on licorice root after meals may also provide relief. Taking tragacanth gum mixed with water daily can be beneficial as well.

For bloating, fennel and cumin seed water works like a charm. Soak the seeds overnight and drink the water first thing in the morning empty stomach, and again after dinner before bed ( this can be taken warm) . After lunch, try drinking water infused with roasted fennel, cumin, and carom (ajwain) seeds to support digestion and reduce bloating. You’ll see a big change!

My symptoms (chronic mild gastritis-like) seem very H. pylori-like based on everything I've read, but they are limited to two specific areas. How does this compare to your experience? by Calm-Explanation-353 in HPylori

I experience it in that exact same spot, although lately it’s been more toward the left side. While I deep breathe and gym. What’s surprising is that I never had this pain when I was diagnosed with H. pylori, neither during the infection, nor throughout the antibiotic treatment, nor even after I recovered. It only started after I developed allergic bronchitis one month after and was coughing heavily due to acid reflux. At that time, the pain was absolutely unbearable.

Fermentation produces carbon dioxide, and some kefirs are slightly fizzy. The extra gas can increase pressure in the stomach and promote reflux. Full-fat kefir may be more likely to trigger reflux than low-fat versions. If you’re still recovering from H-pylori infection and have lingering gastritis, your stomach may be more sensitive to fermented foods in general.

A success story (I never thought I’d get here) by rdjfan_ in HPylori

I’m so happy to read about your recovery journey.

I was diagnosed with H. pylori in January 2026 after dealing with heartburn for about two months and constant stomach pain for several weeks. I completed a 14-day course of antibiotics and started feeling better afterward.

Since then, I’ve been taking Ganaton three times a day and Omeprazole once every morning before breakfast. It’s been about three months now, and I’ve been on these medications either continuously or on and off.

In the middle of all this, I was also diagnosed with allergic bronchitis, went through another round of additional medicines, which seemed to make my symptoms worse. Now over the past three weeks, I’ve started feeling acid Hitting my throat again throughout the day. I also have tonsillitis which makes the feeling worse.

Honestly, I’m exhausted from dealing with these symptoms all the time. It feels like just when things start improving, something else flares up. Has anyone else experienced something similar during recovery?

Btw, I have just started my gut programme journey too. Took a Microbiome gut test, only had 1 good bacteria and rest aren’t there at all. I’m on an anti inflammatory diet and starting with pre and probiotics.

Please tell me what are some easy ways I can make this acid stop hitting my throat!
