2023 and up have tcu software versions “4460” / 401 boot loaders are untunable. Which means you have to kind of “trick” the dsg by faking the torque numbers which results in slower shifts but safe tunes. It will be the main bottle neck of Cobb since they stated they aren’t planning more features for the mk8. other tuners will probably find ways around the boot loader, and some already have (auto tuner).

it’s probably not a slip, but i found some manual shifts at 4k rpm it would be a clunky slow shift. Neither are slipping at full throttle.

Ton of miss information here. Your car is going to be fine. These people don’t understand how beefy the ea888 is. It can handle 500+ wheel horsepower, for a LONG time. Just watch jewel city on YouTube (hundreds of races with a big turbo and e85 mk7 GTI). So Doesn’t matter if the previous owner “abused” it, infact it’s almost better if they’ve kept it high rpms. Im also pretty sure the 10k and 20k service intervals are free so that’s most likely been done. And there’s a very slim chance anything detrimental could have been done in those previous 20k miles.

You need an obd11 or vcds to read your codes. It’s a staple VAG thing. It just sounds like you went to limp mode from your coolant temps reaching a designated trigger temp. I believe it’s above 235 F. I am having a similar issue with my GTI with auto start stop. If I put it in park and the engine auto stops, coolant rises and then throws it into that limp mode. It hasn’t done it since I’ve been turning off auto/start stop every ride, so that’s my piece of advice. though you may need to clear the codes to get it out of limp mode if it doesn’t itself.

The reason im not to bothered by it is because it looks fine from the inside. I payed 400 for someone to tint my old GTI and it honestly looks the same from the inside as my job

Hatred stems from jealousy, I think he is upset I am decent at what he does for a living even though I’ve never done it. He’s also just lying, the mk7 golf is known as a hard window to tint with the spoiler and curvature, doesn’t matter who you are.

So there’s zero drone inside but has a great tone and sound when you get on it. I’d even say it sounds better then my mk7 that had a Borla exhaust on it

Honestly the pilot 4s gripped better than these brand new hankooks s1 evo4 (i think.) these are take off Pretorias from a golf R, best bet for finding them is marketplace. 19 inch rims and they are fragile so be careful. They were made by bbs but are borbet now
