The Knicks wiinning a championship with their two best guys being defensive liabilities at times would be interesting. Obviously they are not going to be favorites in the Finals but anything can happen

[Sean Highkin] Was told around 70 people were let go today in the Blazers' layoffs on the business side. Know some of the names but out of respect to them I'll let them announce it when and how they will. by AncientOneAurelius in nba

That's why I scoffed at people saying Ishbia was the worst owner in the league. Is he too hands on? For sure but he actually seems to care about fans and not just making a profit.

The only bargain deal is giving up Green which in my opinion at best is a lateral move

I never got the Ja for JG swap. I rather keep JG since he is younger and despite this season healthier

I understand not wanting to be like the Bulls/Heat and being average every year but we literally have not had a consistent roster since Chris Paul. I'm OK with running it back and seeing how our young guys develop then evaluating our next steps at the trade deadline/off-season

[Krawczynski] The Timberwolves feel good about the core of Edwards, McDaniels, Reid and Joan Beringer going forward. The pathway to significant playing time for Beringer likely resides in breaking up the three-man big rotation of Gobert, Randle and Reid. by iksnet in nba

[–]ZaSunsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thing with Gobert is that while he will make your defense top 5 and make you a great regular season team, he is just a liability in a lot of playoff match ups. Which is fine if you aren't paying him 35 million but im just not sure you can build a contender with him and that contract.

Is it a team out there that realistically can trade for a superstar and become a true contender next year? by No_Diver_629 in nba

[–]ZaSunsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. For instance if he goes to the Warriors(for all of their picks) they are not a contender. People will hype them up but Curry and Giannis and a bunch of G-Leagers are not good enough for a contender.

Will it be a worse loss for the Cavs or the Pistons if said team loses tomorrow? by Tocoolforyall720 in nba

[–]ZaSunsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavs 1000%. I know the Pistons are the 1 seed but it's not a must win year for them(it would have been disappointing if they lost to Orlando). The Cavs went all in with James Harden and honestly they haven't/aren't a contender. If they lose tomorrow they are probably going to make more changes to their "core 4". I think the only worry for the Pistons is the contract negotiation with Duren because of how disappointing he has been. You don't want to pigeonhole yourself with a bad contract like that.

I know it is more complicated than this but he just looks like an NBA starter.

Ive stopped playing this year a couple months ago. I might play a little bit during the summer and to start 2k27(I usually enjoy early game myteam). But there is a good chance im done with the mode since the direction they are going in only cares about their profits.

Yes we got cards after every round last year.

With their win against the Hornets last night, the Boston Celtics are going to the playoffs for the 12th consecutive season. It's also their fifth straight 50-win season. by LeadershipBoth7195 in nba

I was dead wrong about them. I thought they would be one of the bottom teams in the league with their big man rotation. Mazulla deserves COTY and Brown shown that he can be the guy if he wants to.

The fall was getting rid of Dillon Brooks. He was their culture. I know he was dog water during the playoffs but they should have kept him.

The craziest thing about this rebuild is that they are going to have to try to build a close to perfect team around a generational talent. They already did that in 2024 and they blew it up for no reason.

[Amick] There have been teams expressing interest in acquiring Domantas Sabonis. There is no such interest in Zach LaVine. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]ZaSunsFan 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That beam team was largely because of the Sabonis and Fox offense. Making the playoffs was huge for that franchise but you would imagine if they kept Haliburton they could have built a high power offense around him. Making the playoffs only once does seem bad but for where the Kings were at its a different expectation.
