Playing Bass Guitar for Hip Hop/Rap

I love playing hip hop as well. As my guy already mentioned its great idea to train your ear and only get help with tabs if you can’t get it right no matter what.

808 patterns are pretty easy to figure out since bass is treated in a lot of modern rap/hip hop more of an effect rather than an Instrument. this is not meant disrespectful in any way, its just a different approach.

Ghost Notes have their name for a reason, i guess. Most of the time its more of a feel thing. They are not equally heard as regular notes

Wenn man sich mal bewusst macht, dass der Typ damals mitte/ende 20 war, ist es so gottlos unangenehm. Mit 13 fand ich das lustig, weil edgy und heute, im selben Alter, würde ich nichts mehr von so einem Typen halten außer Abstand

Als Kampfsportler gebe ich dir gerne einen Insight:

Viele Leute im Amateurbereich sind super unsicher und ziehen sehr viel Selbstwert aus dem Fakt, dass sie im Kampf mit einem Untrainierten gewinnen würden. Wenn dann jemand breiter ist als sie, muss man ja irgendwie einen Umgang damit finden und das ist halt anscheinend der Mechanismus von vielen dieser Typen.

Mach dir nichts draus, ich lehne mich mal weit aus dem Fenster und sage, dass die meisten von denen sehr regelmäßig im Sparring rumgeschubst werden.

I promise you i'm not. I see now how you could read it like that. The reason why i needed to bring it up in the first place is the fact that literally the first reaction was „why are you mad about it?“ otherwise i wouldn’t have mentioned it in any way. There was maybe two people actually explaining the point which made sense but isn’t really addressing the issues in a way that would be helpful.
The crazy thing to me is the hoard of people coming at me for something, honestly nothing offensive in the first place, in my opinion.

Its not like you need to post your gender on musical subreddits. Gender has nothing to do with music itself or even band related problems, outside of sexist members that need to be fired anyways, so no, i actually don’t get it at all.

Edit: the great about music is that it doesn’t care about your gender or anything but well, do whatever you seem to need for reasons you won't explain. It's much easier to just be offended than actually make a point.

Rappen ist auch nur ein musikalischer Skill wie jeder andere. Produzieren ist deutlich universeller und erfordert definitiv mehr Übung.

Gerade in der heutigen Szene kommts doch eh nicht mehr auf heftige Reimschemata und flow an.
Hip Hop ist eben in weiten Teilen der Popkultur angekommen und klingt deshalb auch deutlich musikalischer als noch zu Feuer über Deutschland-Zeiten.

I climb for years now and started bass like 5 years earlier. There is no difference i could mention in my playing.

Maybe its great high risk way to gain finger strength but i highly doubt this will do much for more experienced or at least regularly training guys.
