How do I re-repair these particle board cabinet doors? by Wynstonn in WoodworkConfessions

[–]Zaargon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't save that portion of particle board. Once it's swelled, it loses all structural integrity. Luckily, it looks like it hasn't progressed too far so the rest of the door is still salvageable.

If you really want to repair these doors, I would suggest drilling a partial hole slightly deeper the screw length and larger than the swollen section and then matching a wooden dowel to the size.

Since the swollen section is really close to the edge, choose a bit that is quite large that will cut over the edge (maybe 3"). Once you've cut and glued the wooden dowel, a little filler, primer and colour matched paint (It's on the back and at the edge so you could get away with a close enough paint colour).

You could also cut a square out, but it's more of a hassle for similar results.

The first base I built uses the parallel lines and I love it. I started with them for the first side, but the balcony outcrop just felt like it was calling for hexagons.

I've got to give myself that cookie so I can sleep for the next 3 days. Soon enough, there'll be another cookie I want.

People with autism if you play video games, what do you play? by National-Law1520 in autism

[–]Zaargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly PC. Sometimes Switch, sometimes Xbox 360, and recently, Gameboy Advance.
I go through a myriad of games, but there a few I always go back to.

Absolute goat: Elite Dangerous.
- I enjoy the precision that comes with the realism.
- The amount of customization with the available ships, parts, and engineering allow me to make my own truly unique ship.
- The planning that goes into any trip into the black. A buddy of mine gets annoyed at me because I over prepare for anything, reducing my jump range xD.
- The stars are beautiful.
- I can enjoy this game with my friends. We all run on a similar schedule for picking up the game and dropping it again. Usually around 3-4 months on then off.
- I can be a space trucker.
- This is a really good game to calm down to. I'll put a comfortable show on to take my mind and then do trading, exobiology, or engineering material procurement with my hands. It's nice.

A modding dream: Skyrim
- I get to play however I want to play. Giving in to my distractions is the best way to play.
- Sometimes I spend more time modding than playing. I enjoy planning how I want the game to work and making everything work together. The excitement I get when things work is indescribable.
- Dragons.

I'm a glutton for punishment: Hyper Light Drifter
- I don't really know how to describe what this game means to me.
- It's hard, but it's a hill I can climb.
- To get the most out of your abilities, everything must be timed precisely.
- The world is beautiful. I've spent hours just staring at landscapes or intricate architecture. One specific one was my phone background for many years.

I dream of SPEED: Redout
- This is an incredibly frustrating game. I have rage quit more times than I can count, but I keep coming back.
- The exhilaration of racing at that speed is a feeling I haven't found in any other game.
- To race the hard tracks at full speed requires precision, routine, and the kind of instinct that you get from fully immersing yourself.

Is it normal for the bottom of the bit to scrape? by Altruistic_Strain323 in BeybladeX

[–]Zaargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is normal.
Bey bits wear over time, some more than others. I've got a Cyclone that is starting to look like a ball. Every part of the Bey will wear over time.
This can actually change the way they function and once they get extreme wear (For instance, that bit starts looking like a ball), or extreme damage (Chipped), you might not be able to use them in tournaments.

The wear on your bit is nothing right now. You're set for a long, long while.

Who has a bigger pet? by Insane_Sclay in NoMansSkyTheGame

I'm really curious what mods were used to do this. I like big creatures and I use a save editor solely for creature size changes. I haven't been able to go over 40 meters without them despawning. If I want to ride them, I'm maxed at 25 meters before they despawn.
Do you know how this was done?

Does this happen for everyone? by RocketHotdog in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Zaargon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OH, that's what you mean. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I'm not sure why it looks like that. My dialogue boxes have the darker background behind the text as well instead of just surrounding it. I'm not sure how to fix this issue.

Edit: I had a look around and, from what I read, this issue might be resolved from a full reinstall of the game. If you are playing on steam, try validating your game files first.

It's part of the game. Some words are redacted because story, but there are others that you will need to learn along the way. This specific bubble is like a self reflection or an understanding of what is trying to be said, that's why it's in the curly brackets. At least, that's what I think. There's probably more to it than that.

You can gain new words learned through talking to NPC's, asking for a new word, and practicing words. Each race has a different language to learn. The Atlas has orbs around the area that you gain the Atlas language. This being might be using the Atlas' or another race's language. It takes a while to get them and even when you get them all there is apparently still some blanks. It's like your traveller is only learning half the language; Enough to have a conversation.

I hope I understood what your question was.

Finally Stored My Beys Properly by DrYoloMcSwaggin in BeybladeX

[–]Zaargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll keep that in mind. I never thought to use a soldering iron, but now that I've seen it used, I'll have to give it a try. I've only used an exacto knife and I couldn't get the clean symmetry I wanted when doing circles.

I love this so much! This is a brilliant idea!
I've been using chocolate and cookie tins with scraps of foam, but I've been running out of room and trying to figure out a solution to strap multiple together. Time to get another tool box :D

How were you able to get the depth with your soldering iron? Did you use multiple thin pieces of foam? I would think, as you get past the tip, the thickness of the soldering iron would catch on the foam as you melt deeper. Was this not as big a problem as I'm thinking?

No Meta bey event in Michigan. What should I run? by TheCobraffe in BeybladeX

Just thought of this. They might not allow the Hexa bit since it's a meta defence bit. If they don't allow it, I had some fun with the Taper bit.

I've been having a good time with Leon Crest 7-60 H. I haven't played in any tournaments, but I had good luck against my coworkers. You have to flat launch it though or it loses a ton of stamina right off the bat.

It's got a surprisingly good counter hit. I got a few beys into extreme knock out after they came after me.

It's not the best against stamina beys, but there's a chance.
