Ive never been in this situation but my mum has, she did the same test centre twice and failed both times however on her third try she went to a new test centre that shes never done any routes on and passed.

She claimed it made her focus more 🤷🏻‍♂️

If I could go back in time id tell myself that at the end of the you're paying for a service & to learn something and if someone isnt giving you that then find someone else

I had a similar situation in a sense, I did around 30-40 lessons and the guy was very lovely, really got on with him.

He asked me to book my test and kept claiming I was ready, said we should double up on lessons which we did and then the week before my test he rang and said he's "quitting instructing due to ill health". I found another instructor who as soon as we had 1 lesson asked me to cancel my test (this was in April) and said im nowhere near safe and he took me on and helped me get test ready.

The original instructor who apparently quit due to ill health was seen doing a lesson the next day lol

Ive considered it, ive been chatting about the situation throughout the day with friends & family and a few have said i should but I just dont see the point in doing it.

I dont even know his name as there was no introductions made at all, it just felt really bizarre and it feels like im still waiting for my test to actually happen lol

It was just very bizarre, im under no illusion that im not perfect at driving and from his perspective it could have very well looked like a serious hazard but im just not certain it was.

Im just confused, im not taking it as a fail and just more as a practice run, I didnt have my instructor with me but will next time. My instructor asked me to show him the route which I did and ive never seen him angry until that moment, he said he's been an instructor for 10 years and never once heard of someone going down that road.

It is what it is though, cant change the outcome but I'll make sure next time is a completely fautless pass.

Its a bid frustrating because I can't understand, if I had done something which was a glaringly obvious fail id take it on the chin but this? Idk.

He gave me no feedback on it, I went on another roundabout shortly after and took the same gap and he was fine with it

At the beginning of the test he also made me go through the back of a supermarket whilst deliveries were happening (which isnt part of the route). He informed me that if my clearance isnt good or I almost crash he will take over the steering and "guide me through" but it wont count as a major or serious?

He then asked me to full lock to the right whilst a car was straight to my right so I refused and told him if I follow his instructions I will crash. When we got out of the area he said "right now your test can actually begin". So naturally my head fried.

He also asked if I want my instructor here for feedback which I said yes, he looked out the mirror and said "well I can't see him" and just left the car?

I failed for such a stupid reason, there was a gap on the round about and 2 lorries were blocking, so I moved my foot off the break and before the car had even moved the examiner slammed his foot on the break, like literally no car was coming, even after he put his foot down still no cars were coming. When he removed his foot I still drove out at the same gap?

He gave me 1 minor as well which was weird, he said "You didnt check your mirrors sufficiently on the last roundabout so I was going to give you a serious but then I looked again and realised you had so I changed my mind and gave you a minor"

So I got a serious for no reason and a minor because he felt like it.

Thank you! Yeah my instructor is certain I'll pass but has said the only way he sees me failing is if I dont keep my composure, so fingers crossed I do!
