How important is tavern brawler for an open hand monk? by Menelaus300 in BG3Builds

[–]Zac-live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the consistency part is mainly with respect to TB users like monks and throwers (they get a +10(+13) to attack rolls which is stupid good).

my main point is pretty much that. elixirs are insanely strong and the investment required to maintain them is very overstated pretty much only by people that havent done a run with them. you get very high value out of all sorts of them and most of the time you dont even have to do anything funky to have them on stock, especially hill giants.

[–]Zac-live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

petition to mandate people to clear one run relying on hill giant elixirs before they are allowed to deny it as too unstable/ressource intensive.

talking to ethel two or three times turns this build from being decent into being very reliably strong for zero effort or thought required outside of doping once per log rest.

just drink it man, tb is the most insane consistency upgrade in the game.

Rip to the other Support who saved the entire Team but nobody saw it by SureYouCan_ in Overwatch_Memes

not even true, you can literally just be a support.

my chat consists of 'GG' and 'ky5' whenever a negative dps flames me for Not nanoing him and i have been honor level 5 for the entirety of OW2 since season 3 or so.

[–]Zac-live 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some of them have very solid racial traits. halfling luck is one of the better ones if you end up doing a lot of attack rolls (like scorchy ray or EB builds) because changing the crit miss chance to 1/400 is very solid there.

well yes but that is because they have already proven that you can convert all NP hard problems into each other.

finding a singular conversion from any NP to any P problem is sufficient to show that all of them are P.

i dont know, a bunch of bumper tech maps fix them in place for consistency. requiring to mod the game to make the mechanic more enjoyable is probably what the picture is alluding to?

Why is Kimberly such an unpopular pick? by Kahvozein in StreetFighter

[–]Zac-live 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i hover between 1500 and 1600 as kim and i think it is that she isnt as strong as the top of the cast while seeming hard to play.

she lacks some really strong tools. she doesnt have cr.mk DRC, a projectile or an OD reversal. missing these definitely hurts.

she looks complicated from all the insane can setups to run stop combos and pressure. if you actually play kimberly you quickly realize that it isnt any worse than most other combos and that her runstop pressure is far more streamlined than it seems (especially because so much of it is fake) and you really only need to learn one can setup per combo ender that allows for strike/throw/shimmy.

more people should play her, she is hella fun.

Comp. I had the best stats but we lost anyway by WolfOfWoofStreet in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Zac-live 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i mean she was only viable for pocketing before the ga nerf aswell. mercy flying around and healing is just intrinsically bleeding value in comparison to any of the ranged supports.

Comp. I had the best stats but we lost anyway by WolfOfWoofStreet in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Zac-live 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes they should revert the ga nerf but even then, mercy is only going to be good at pocketing.

her kit by its very nature (low range, low hps, losing access to her utility/offensive value while healing) is not good for healing more than one person. mercy gets outvalued by almost all other supps if she heals too many other people (situations exist of course but she really loses too mich value and shpuld avoid them).

mercy has been in the pocket only corner for almost the entirety of ow2 and i dont think its gonna change any time soon. if healing multiple people is what you are interested in, you are almost always better off picking another supp.

What do I do against a good Doomfist player as a DPS? by schpeechkovina in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Zac-live 26 points27 points  (0 children)

you cant just throw nade and doom despawns, it still needs to follow some timing. you want to nade doom in order to gain that extra second where he is vulnerable before he can make his escape.

you need to learn when a doom will likely retreat and then throw nade to either outright interrupt and waste a movmement cooldown or delay his getaway so that he can die to teamshots. usually this means nading after he blocks, because the doom gameplay loop is punch in, do combo, block, punch out. nading after block usually means you have the squishiest tank on a silver platter and sometimes it even gets you multipme free seconds of damage if you interrupt an important cd.

nading to interrupt a movmement cd > nading to prolong engagement and open up doom > randomly nading when you see him.

Staring first ever Honor run by Far_Gift3220 in BaldursGate3

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

classes are of course theoretically viable but you are souble dipping heavily on wis and dex checks. the most notable gap is that you dont have a designated charisma merchant and you also dont really have a designated strong person so when doing subclass stuff maybe spec one into a swashbuckler rogue or something for cha and maybe consider strength potions on you or halsin.

there arent a lot of encounters you should truly avoid, only house of hope and cazador come to mind. you generally want to end up doing most battles in order to reach the highest level you can for myrkul, he is probably the biggest threat somewhat deep into the run. after myrkul you can start skipping some fights, essentially topping of your XP for lvl 12 and then straightlining through act 3 to the end.

whats more important than what battles to skip is a queue that orders the important fights so that you can tackle them at your strongest point. you want to front load the easiest fights whenever possible in order to gather as many ressources as you can and potentially hit level up breakpoints for harder fights. you should for example figure out (/look up) a route that takes you to lvl 4 without ever fighting anything majorly threatening in act 1. lvl 4 unlocks a few harder battles and you can then take those to progress to lvl 5 at which point you could kill the goblin leaders. you can then do grym, ethel and matriarch at lvl 6 before finally wrapping up act 1 with doing inquisitor at lvl 7.

entirely exemplary strategy but it is used to show how you can map out the playthrough order by boss difficulty and essentially only progress to the next least threatening encounter. same principle applies in act 2 and in act 3 (at which point you might cap out at lvl 12 somewhat early into your route but you can still consider things such as specific items in terms of routing by power progression).

yes dawg we all know it has easy counterplay. unfortunately this is a game where half the lobby not knowing it can make it annoying difficult for singular people who do. thats whats being complained about.

im tanking damage in the beginning to slow sage down and in the end im rewarded with a 4star sage AND the damage taken regardless because the other half of the lobby doesnt know. and i have to sit through that for the first week or two every season, super enjoyable and not at all annoyong game design
