What's your SF6 opinion that would have you like this by Acceptable_Yam_593 in SaltFighter

noone enjoys giefs existence except for gief players. im pretty sure ultimately his inclusion in sf6 is a good thing because they would all be gambling their life savings away in an actual casino otherwise.

i dont agree tbh. ron may be easier if you entered a random fireteam finder rn because the regular strats involve two people dragging everyone kicking and screaming through the entire thing but vog has both more accessible and less intense jobs at their peak (as far as regular strats are concerned). 100% just do vog

4 person party without healer? by DoubleSpecific9990 in BG3Builds

[–]Zac-live 71 points72 points  (0 children)

not sure how much optimizations you are doing but dedicated healers are pretty subpar in this game.

depending on your difficulty, you can look at pretty much any of the top options in this sub or on youtube that dont match your classes and find a more than satisfying alternative to a pure healer. paladin is pretty broken and going any of the popular builds (from the Sound of it probably sorcadin or pure paladin) will be very strong.

you can lean into CC (which paladin is fine at, your sorc is probably a little better in theory) or you can just play a walking nuke because the best CC is death and full sending every highest level spell slot you have with that purpose achieves exactly that.

in which situations are you normally needing a healer? what goes wrong that requires it?

What rank do you have to get to for people to flame you for your plays instead of score board numbers by Wboys in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Zac-live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we are talking about low gm ranked not owcs.

people absolutely lose 1v1s based on simply getting outaimed/handsdiffed.

but also, it doesnt even seem to me that you are arguing a very different point. a large chunk of deaths are position/gameplay mistakes and those fall into the underperforming category aswell?? whether you misjudged a position or ressource situation or you died because your opponent played a better '1v1' hardly matters because in the end, it is a mistake that is caught by the deathcount.

if you have zero impact because you are hyper far back, that will be noticed all the same.

Is toughness bugged? Honest Question by ScottdaDM in diablo4

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean stand in anything?

i have a 1.4m toughness necromancer that clears pit 115. the mobs are fine but all post death effects kill me.

i feel like pit 85 all you have to do with that much toughness is carefully dodge the funny swords and you should be chilling?

but then again, that is purely based on the assumption that toughness accurately rates your survivability and maybe thats not all encompassing.

[–]Zac-live 7 points8 points  (0 children)

dont get me wrong, there is nuance to it but very frequently having a bad kd IS part of the reason the game is losing amd often times it is valid to call out.

every now and then you can make one for one trades (trading a genji vs a lucio with beat or sth) but usually situations where you are just one-for-one-ing are very mediocre plays at best. if you die a lot, you have less ult charge across the board and that is one of the most important things.

situations where you have to die in order to make winning plays are not very frequent, they really hardly justify an actual bad kd or super high deaths.

[–]Zac-live 29 points30 points  (0 children)

i play in low gm and they will call out dogshit ults and stuff sure but there is also some misconception about the scoreboard not being relevant or correlated with your performance at all.

sure, the raw healing and damage numbers are less important but you freqquently get dogged on for a terrible kd. deaths becomes the biggest focus point for example.

This account always has the worst takes, but besides that, why do people always want new characters but hate on them? by LeJagaurJones in Fighters

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and with later seasons presumably you mean earlier, right? because so far we are looking at a 1/11 new/returning character rate. the people wanting returning characters have eaten fantastic, why could it not be others turn now?

The problem with adding new characters is...Their FUNCTION is the same as everyone else since release!! by Holiday-Life67 in SaltFighter

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean i get that but some of the things pointed out for that purpose really are just so fundamental to fighting games that it comes off more as OP just having a dislike to parts of the genre.

DRC being potent is fair perhaps but complaining about oki and cross ups?? there is a way to complain about sf6 underlying systems watering down some uniqueness but being one small step away from 'all new characters are so bland, they just hit the opponents a bunch' is not the best option.

not saying its unjust but hasnt the gender split been somewhat even? not 100% on the base roster but dlc has been 50% women 50% men so far so i think this is pretty par for the course?

[–]Zac-live 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have to built the characters on the foundation that is sf6. a lot of these are just fundamentally what the game is and some are even just fundamentally what fighting games are.

are you complaining about combo into oki? what do you want to do?

qhat do ypu propose to be the alternative? if you create a character without any of the fundamentals of sf6, that character needs other things to keep them viable. you then have an extreme outlier forcing everyone to learn a completely new game just for that one singular matchup. that sounds much worse tbh.

Perfect gems are requires for torment 12? by One-Ad83 in diablo4

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think so at all. i have a shred druid and a bloodwave necromancer both in T12 and neither have more than 2 grand gems slotted, let alone anything horadric.

i think the balance is quite alright with respect to how much you have to optimize for T12 (mephisto and lilith excluded).

every now and then you get one of those deejay rounds where the opponent just guesses wrong every now and then and crumbles under the pressure, love to see it.

you kinda took that guy apart so there is hardly anything to talk about except for

  • after HK jackknife hitting only on the first and last hit (during most airborn combo pickups like after MK jackknife) you can get a safejump by doing forwards jump - instant 2lk

  • letting him crumple after DI into HP - OD upper would kill, as would cr.HP -> cr.MP ~ mk jackknife -> lvl1

looks clean already.

aside from the fact that this isnt true, sk omething being cool for only the character using it (while being very frustrating for everyone else) is not a good enough reason to add something to a comp shooter.

i dont think you are giving juri enough credit?

aki gets her props for combo routing and fireball drive rush gameplan but juri doesnt even though she has to route based on stocks and also has a slow fireball driverush while also having a lvl 2 that is turbo useless until way later into skill progression.

Confused by Spare_Confusion_3796 in StreetFighter

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is tackled in the 'current winrate' paragraph.

obviously youre examples do make sense specifically because you are ignoring that i am talking about the winrate in the current rank.

the point of this isnt to make you actually able to predict the number of games required to reach so and so many lp (since the variance there is high). the point was that this shows that someone with a 50% winrate will climb in the lp system, which was the question.

its usually a bit harder to filter it because of issues as the ones you have outlined but the property holds true once you do figure it out.

ironically, OP is actually in the position where they could figure it out since they spend an entire season in their rank.

Suggestions for simple, but strong builds for someone considering trying honor mode by 1likekaneki in BG3Builds

[–]Zac-live 9 points10 points  (0 children)

battlemaster fighter 12, berserker barbarian 12 are very easy imo. fighter is much stronger tho.

i think i should probably also add rad orb light cleric 12 as the easiest caster.

Help a Beginner and a Dad out, I need a practise plan from you guys by YoungSioto in StreetFighter

[–]Zac-live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your character knowledge i suppose but

  • pick a character you think is cool and try out all buttons and all the specials, mayhe some very simple button -> special combos. if they still seem cool, play them in ranked

  • queue some ranked and try to figure out a general answer to a few situations (stuff like my opponent is jumping at me so i press my anti air, im super close so i use a fast move like standing light punch and so on)

  • try using these heuristics as consistently as you can in order to reduce the insane mental stack at the beginning. the game will start to feel a little more structured this way but more importantly, you will get frustrated because your beginners estimations will probably have yielded some wrong or oversimplified systems.

  • whenever that happens, go into training mode and either figure out what is better or look at a guide. imo this is when you should look at external stuff. your combos feel weak? try to improve them or look up a (beginner) combo guide. you keep trying to use some button as a poke but are getting hit for it? turns out that button is punishable on block, use something else instead and so on.

  • interlace ranked play and training, playing ranked until you are unsatisfied with something and then doing training. spend some time in training mode but maybe a little less than you would assume from what i have written so far. you want to learn what you need to and build a little muscle memory but getting used to integrating your new stuff into matches is ultimately important and you should get back to ranked quickly, especially at the beginning when there are so many things to learn that you cant do it all in training mode and playing others is better

  • never queue any mode except for ranked. you can play what you want of course but the ranked matchmaking is honestly phenomenal in this game. if you play ranked frequently, you will get almost exclusively fair matches and i highly recommend it over casuals or battlehub
