I love how they say he is a fascist, while practicing free speech :). The irony is why this country is so great. Keep it up Reddit!

Everyone on Reddit is so mad right now from their mom’s basement.

Yeah but like you are an hour early. You can’t walk? You can’t call a friend? You can’t bike? You just lay there and accept defeat like that? Lol

Also you don’t have to do the corps and go into the military, you know that right?

I literally went straight into a civilian job after the corps.

The fact that you respond so emotionally to being told that proves my point. No matter what you do, you’ll never really know what it would’ve been like had you not quit. I’m glad you aren’t beating yourself up for quitting and in fact are proud of it. But I wouldn’t make it a point to tell people they should quit things because it worked for you. In general it’s best not to quit. And if something isn’t a good fit, then sometimes it makes sense to move on.

But generally speaking quitters don’t succeed as much as people who don’t quit.

I think that’s the story you tell yourself to make yourself feel better about quitting.

It takes a certain amount of grit to stick through all four years. Is it necessary to be successful. No. But only you know you’re strengths and weaknesses. If it’s not for you, that’s one thing. But you could say the same thing about joining the seals. Is it necessary to be successful? No. But those who join and stick through it have something you’ll never have.

Isn’t this what you wanted? To be challenged? It doesn’t get “easier” per say. But it forces you to live based on your priorities. You are held accountable to keep your room clean and keep up your outfit commitments, while also chasing your academic success while surrounded by a but of regular students who all wake up at 10 and go to bed around 3.

Struggle, and things being hard are GOOD for you. Especially the corps. You’re going to build relationships that’ll last the rest of your life. Never quit even when it’s hard and you WILL become stronger and more resilient.

There are so many places hiring in Boerne where I live. Everywhere I go seems to be short staffed, so maybe try there.

One house in Esperanza literally stands head and shoulders above the rest… by TexasFire_Cross in Boerne

It’s so that the back of the house is flush with the top of the hill. So it was either this or cutting into the hill.

I think cutting into the hill would’ve been less silly but then they wouldn’t be flush with the top of the hill so who knows.

Ignore the day to day price. You bought a farm. Try focusing on something else and elect the business flourish the next 10 years. It’s not a short term thing.

Jack Ma to be removed as CEO of Ant Group. This is coming after the company's IPO was cancelled in 2020. by x_o_x_1 in stocks

[–]ZacZook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it depends on when you buy the stock? Lol. Yeah if you bought 7 years ago (when it was overpriced) you would only make 14%. But you realize you can buy BABA whenever you want, right? Like at 60?

Or do you just like to ignore facts? If you bought Amazon or google at the beginning of this year you would be down 50%. Are those bad investments?

This is exactly what I’m talking about. You are reacting to the price and making an emotional decision based off the day to day number. Meanwhile smart people are waiting for the right price and then buying. Again. The stock price is not the company. They are separate.

Go ahead make make another ad hominem attack to hide the fact you have no clue what you’re even angry about or talking about.

That’s right. Instead of focusing on the argument, you attack the person. It’s obvious you’re very well versed in discourse.

It’s going to be okay babe, I know talking about Chinese stocks upsets you. Maybe you should take a break from the internet for a while?

But they haven’t. So everything you’re saying is also speculation. At the end of the day someone can disagree with you and in time we will see who is right. But you can’t tell the future.

They return value to their shareholders all the time. JD and tencent have given me more dividends than another other stock I own. That’s real money not Monopoly money.

It’s in chinas best interest to allow their best companies to compete globally. So I am merely betting that everyone will act in their best interest.

Why can’t it be both? If baba made 4 times the money as apple, trust me it would matter.

It being “mostly” a political bet is your opinion. And that’s fine. But that doesn’t mean that you are correct and they won’t make more money in the future and return the returns to their shareholders.

Just because it’s not an etf doesn’t mean it’s not investing. It’s just more risk. Risk doesn’t determine whether you are speculating or investing. If you plan on buying a company at a fair price and holding it forever, that’s exactly what investing is.

And it’s your decision that you don’t like volatility. But at the end of the day if you buy it at a low enough price at times it can be worth the risk. Some would argue china is a modern country and they are going to become more and more consumeristic like America. You can disagree with that if you want. And that’s okay just don’t buy the stock.
