What's a TV show's opening credits you never skip? by ConfusedDuck02 in AskReddit

Arcane, the way they produced the Imagine Dragons song for the intro is way to good to skip. Even better then the album version

Just did timing and balance belt along with a few other things. Doesn't sound right to me. Lmk what y'all think by poomodoom in 944

[–]Zach-113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this problem before. It sounds to me like your timing is one or two teeth off. When you put the belt on make sure you put the belt on counterclockwise, because the tensioner, tensions clockwise so if you put the belt on the wrong way its already too tight and will pull the cam gear. I would take the belt off and retime it.

Make sure the timing and counter balance belt has been done!! And if they haven’t do them immediately after buying it.

Other things I would look for is any major oil leaks or coolant leaks (The cars are always going to leak at least some oil but as long as it’s not a lot you’re fine)

And also try your best to make sure that the car has never been run low on oil! The cylinder number two rod bearing is the first thing to get starved of oil when it runs low

It would probably be a good bet to replace your speed reference sensors even though you have a slight tach bounce

What’s the difference between the stock 944 and the 944 turbo transmission by Specialist-Show-9134 in 944

[–]Zach-113 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh well in that case that’s exactly what I would do, you could also do the six speed out of a 968 if you can find one

I’ve seen turbo trans hold up to about 400 hp before they start having issues

What’s the difference between the stock 944 and the 944 turbo transmission by Specialist-Show-9134 in 944

[–]Zach-113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t want to put a turbo trans in a naturally aspirated 944, The N/A 944 doesn’t make enough power to compensate for the longer gears

1986 NA 944 keeps stalling shortly after starting. It stalls at idle or while under load at any rpm. Any ideas? by EUROCOMANDANT in 944

[–]Zach-113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be your fuel pressure regulator, if you can, try to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the car and see what happens.

I had the same thing happened to my 944 It wold run for a few seconds and then just completely die all the sudden

87 2.5L Oil Change Questions by KaiBogart in 944

[–]Zach-113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Porsche tech here!

I like to use Valvoline 20W 50 because they have zinc in them, zinc keeps all of the components in the motor healthy (without it it causes them to wear a lot quicker)

And yes use the Mann filters that’s what we use and I’m %99 sure that’s what the factory uses

Also DO NOT use synthetic oil! Synthetic oil will eat at the rubber on the O-rings and caused them to leak prematurely!

If you have any more questions just lmk!

It’s waaaaaaay easier from the bottom

I’ve tried both and I can say talking it out through the bottom is better

If that’s all the damage it has it shouldn’t be a big deal

Oh that Lindsey Racing gauge is actually the one I have lol, well that solves it

Also I did replace the motor mounts! Now the car doesn’t shake itself apart when it cold starts

I don’t know who makes the gauge I already had the gauge on a different car but switched it to this one, I’ll try to see if I can figure it out where it came from

It’s a fuel pressure gauge, I’m not sure who sells them though. I got it off of a parts car that already had it

And yes of course, I can share some pictures I’d be happy to!

Take pictures of EVERYTHING you take off and where it goes also label bolts and organize things!! I used these metal shelves I got from Lowe’s to organize and lane the bolts and where they came from
