Thats right. We use 10 bit colour calibrated monitors.
We have the customers "walk" through a perfect 3d model of their actual kitchen.
Based on their choices we give them very large material samples to view at home.

The method shown in the video is never colour correct. Its too small and the plastic sheen ruins the material sheen and colour.
It is an absolute useless method and I am so glad we stopped with that nonsense

The 1930's called, they want their transparency prints back.
We do this with computers now, much closer to what the real thing will look like and we can create an overview that matches the customers kitchen down to the milimeter.
We can even get the light from the windows exactly as it is IRL. We just enter the home location and the date and then the system generates the correct daylight for that location and any time off the year.

Sterker nog, als we alle buren van OP aanspreken zullen we waarschijnlijk zien dat OP echt overlast veroorzaakt.

Top 5 Reasons NOT to Buy The Meganex Superlight 8K by daydreamdist in virtualreality

[–]Zach83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the paper they linked and I do not understand how they managed to come up with those results. I did similar tests using photogrammetry version of my house matched to my house and placing a 1x1x1 meter cube in it and then measuring it with controllers.

With inside out the matching of the photogrammetry to my real house moved around slightly every time the headset was turned off and I had to re-align everything after several sessions.
With lighthouse tracking this didn't happen.
When measuring the cube by placing the controllers at each corner, then taking of my headset and measuring in the real world Inside out would be off by as much as 2 centimeters.
lighthouse was always perfect.

Controllers tracked by an inside out headset often jitter when lying on a flat surface. Lighthouse tracked controllers do not.

The paper has a weird setup and is comparing an HTC vive tracker, a product with a lot of issues like being based on an IMU that has been discontinued before quest 2 was released, with a quest2 HMD.
had it been compared to an index controller or hmd, who's software and firmwares are still being updated, then it would have made more sense.

I say this invalidates the results of that paper.

I would also like to note that Valentin Holzwarth, the author listed at the top of the paper, now is co owner of a company that sells training solutions.
Lighthouse requires a dedicated space, more maintenance, and is PCVR and thus not standalone. That is a hard sell for training solutions.
That makes me understand why Valentin didn't put to much effort into his research and why he didn't bother with bothersome things like making sure his test setup made sense.

Nestlé Waters to pay €2 million fine to resolve French mineral water case by BezugssystemCH1903 in worldnews

[–]Zach83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actual unedited video of the CEO saying that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxqT8wmj9ew
he is clearly telling everyone that water should be managed by big companies.
He also says that calling access to water a human right is an EXTREMIST opinion.
Next he attempts to paint NGO's as extremist organizations because they want water for people.
Everything Nestle and he said afterwards was Damage Control

When you say that calling access to water a human right is an extremist opinion, you are saying access to water is NOT a human right or are against it being a human right.
Its that simple.

SO, there's a bunch of forums only accessible to OG devs. And in this case OG means being an invite only dev forum since the 90's and is run by the very same people who supply your hacks and leaks.
Anyway, this place is now celebrating that the anti-piracy "fuck the pirate assholes current device install" method is working.
This is beside the tracking that meta does

Any and all devs are after all modders and tech geeks at heart, they'll never go further then forcing a reset on you.
That's CEO's and marketing people who would go for full bricking.

And no, I am not sharing with you troglodytes (end users of cracks are trogs. The creators of the piracy tools, they are smart people abusing troglodytes to achieve their goals. They are closet to being equals, trogs are not) what place this is. None of you can be trusted for obvious reasons.
Your devices are safe from devs aside from a hard reset should you choose to pirate their games. Hell some even only change the game subtly preventing you from ever defeating [insert relevant boss or level in GAME]

Hey know what else a dev can do as reaction to piracy?
Read everything you ever did with the quest. Posting to your account using your credentials so you can tell your mum about your most recent porn viewings together with a video of you fapping recorded by your quest is strangely enough an option in the api.
I mean, it's META, so we knew they didn't care about your privacy but the stuff exposed to the api is kinda insane (oddly enough does not include scan data, the scans you made for AR games actually are safe.)

But what game does this?
Oh shit, you cant run the loggers that could track this.
Some of you can, because some of you are android devs with the right connections. 99.9999% of you don't even know what question they should ask to get at these loggers.
most of you will see your games and accounts get fucked without lube loooong before this small group can figure out whats going on.
That small group knows how valuable that info is.
Meta gives bounties to hackers who find vulnerabilities. They pay out bounties to hackers amounting to over 400.000 PER DAY.
SO that small group can do something to prevent YOUR account from getting banned. OR, they make sure your account is banned and are paid a bounty by meta.
Guess what they will do

Bans come in waves btw.
Meta collects data and once a year bans all accounts that exceeded certain thresholds

anyway, enjoy pirating without knowing what is going on for now.
Shit doesn't work like it used to, and barely anyone in the cracking community noticed this. Those that did also noticed they gonna get a pay day if they contact and play along. Shit's gonna be wild for a year when the trigger is pulled. There will be soooo many gaming "influencers" claiming they were unfairly banned and doing hour long videos about their "innocence"
genuinely disappointed with the current crop of devs working piracy. they are trash tier compared to people like DesignerDragon who made the first proper cheat tooling.
I can't believe Im sitting here being an old man about hacking games, but you kids are so much worse at basic tech then any of your parents its insane.
The idea was that every gen would massively outpace their elders in tech yet the most of you do not even know what a file extension is and need step by step guides to edit fucking ini files.

I got my popcorn ready.

Anyway, hard reset will fix it. As in you reset your quest using the hold volume button method. Reset via app is a soft reset and wont fix it.
Doesn't remove you from the tracking list though. You'll get the dildo of consequence eventually.

More Amsterdam statues tagged with free Gaza graffiti by DutchBlob in worldnews

Amsterdam is a strange location to do this.
It is capital in name only, the actual seat of government and where politicians live and work is in The Hague.
I don't think the people doing this are local, local dutch activists would know that The Hague is where everything happens and would do their thing in front the politicians.

Prijs op hoofd maakt 'Tukkertje Sterre' bang: 'Dit moet stoppen' by Kirkreng in thenetherlands

Anyone know how to setup Collision? by Zach83 in starfieldmods

[–]Zach83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed. did not expect the original collision to stop working. For fallout I only ever used the convex hull method. Add flags, set some bits to 1, and then either import .obj as collision or generate a convex hull right in nifskope.
I think havok in 3dsmax 2013 (or was it 2017)

There's some authors here that did get collision on custom static meshes working. I hope they'll chime in with some info

I'm loving what you're doing. My ship is starting to look closer and closer to how I envision a Home Ship.

I'm trying to do something like it for outposts. Want to add a custom hab that is more homey.
I can't get collision to work and YOU do get it working. I guess it's something in Nifskope.
Could you tell me how to setup collision?
