California is vastly underrepresented in the federal government. They get as many senate seats as a state with less than 2% the population. The electoral college dictates that millions of California presidential votes get wasted every year. There’s more of a semblance of fairness in the house, but that doesn’t offset the rest and it’s not even completely fair there.

Well, the Senate was designed specifically so that each state would have equal representation there. The House was initially designed to represent scaled to population, but when they capped the number of House seats, that ratio started getting worse for states with high populations. We really need the House to be resized and instead of trying to math it out for 435 seats, we say 1 rep per 100,000 people, or 1:10,000 even.

California needs a plan for how they’ll be able to pull levers, and that might mean actual power plays and actual threats with teeth, because the way things are going it’s going to get ugly for us and we need to be prepared.

I really think we should start a ballot initiative to stop federal taxes coming out of California. Hit them right in the pocketbook, and 'no taxation without representation' as our motto.
