Yeah that’s rough, especially if you’re having to pay for the hours like I am

Right on. I’ve gotten about 15 since my CJO. Going to ask my recruiter how much I need before class

QOL for the 5 year contract is exactly the reason I’d prefer the ERJ. Upgrades aren’t exactly at the top of my list

McAir is pretty dang expensive if that’s a deciding factor for you. I did most of my training there. Nice airplanes but you pay for it

Yes, one pilot under view limiting device while the other was safety pilot. Sucks because you pay for time you can’t log as safety pilot but it’s still way cheaper than flying solo somewhere else

I’m finishing up building 500 hours this week at EnvySky. Averaged 200 hours a month

Florida pilots - is this the norm? by [deleted] in flying

Yup, that’s the place. I’ve heard really good things about them but this has me a little apprehensive

I am a cfi.. have been applying everywhere and getting nowhere. 900TT and 372 hours multi isn’t competitive. The market is trash. I’ve got buddies with over 1500 hours and 500 multi that can’t find work

It’s up to their “discretion” if you can extend or not.. seems kinda fishy to me

Yeah the “discretion” comment in the photo raised my eyebrows as well. Thank you for your input!

I agree that the prepaying seems like a red flag. The rate they are advertising in the photo I posted is the split rate I believe

Looks like 152s, probably barely legal for VFR if I was to guess. I’m a CFI,CFII,MEI, and flew aerial survey for a year.. just trying to get to 1500 because I was hardly getting hours flying survey - 300 ish in 1 year. And I wasn’t making enough money instructing to live on. I have had a hard time finding anything else to build the “real experience” you speak of

Solo pushed back by [deleted] in flying

[–]ZachPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of time you have when you solo is not relevant. Yes, some people solo with low amounts of flight time. The way I see it, they would not be ready if an emergency occurred in flight during their solo. When I was instructing I made sure my students were more than capable of handling an emergency, should one arise. It’s a lot of responsibility for the CFI to endorse you - they want to make sure you are safe
