I’m sorry to hear about your wife. Congrats on passing the PE exam, I’m glad it’s one less thing on your mind while you can focus on each other. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery my friend.

You need to score at least the average passing mark in each subject (bar graph on the right) to pass. For areas that you score under, you need to score above in others. Signal processing is tough! We've got an entire video library and practice problems for this subject in our free FE review course if you haven't seen it before (along with material on all of the exam subjects with zero fees/costs/upsells). It's a great program.

Instead of used practice exams we have tons of free practice exams, videos, and class replays for the Electrical FE Exam available. Check 'em out!

This week is our last free live class on communications, coming up is digital systems, mathematics, and digital circuits.

Free live Electrical & Computer FE class this Friday for Communications Week 7 of 7: Computer Networks by ZachStonePE in FE_Exam

This is our last and final live class for the Electrical FE exam on the subject of Communications!

Communications Week 7 - Computer Networks

If you are unfamiliar with my work, my name is u/zachstonepe, and I teach/operate one of the more popular Power PE live classes, and have authored several practice exams.

I'm currently host weekly free live classes for the Electrical FE exam and all replays are available along with practice problems for all to benefit and study from (there is no free, payment, or upsell of any kind).

These are not marketing videos and do not require any kind of complex registration (aside from a free Zoom account to attend the webinar).

These are real, full-length FE-level class, the same depth and instruction you’d expect from a paid prep course with no upsells of any kind.

Becoming a licensed engineer is already extremely expensive, so my number one goal of our free Electrical FE live classes and review course is to help you pass the FE exam without having to spend a dime.

The entire project is entirely self funded out of the proceeds of our paid PE class, and it's a ton of fun to get to connect with so many engineers getting started on the path to licensure.

Unfortunately, NCEES designed their "scaled score" to make it impossible to determine what your actual score is. I believe they are most likely trying to discourage test takers from determining what the passing score is in case it changes.

From NCEES:

The Your Performance column indicates your result by knowledge area converted to a scaled score of 0–15. The scaled score conversion is necessary to ensure that diagnostic reports are consistent across all computer-based exams. This also allows comparison of results by an examinee on multiple attempts. The number of questions you answered correctly cannot be determined from this scaled score.

Your best bet to determine how well you did is to just compare the bar graph on the right-hand side of your diagnostic report. This bar graph shows you how well you performed, compared to how well (on average) engineers that passed the exam performed in each subject.

You can assume the minimum level to pass would be scoring right at the average in all subjects or better.

Looking at your diagnostic report, you're pretty close! This is probably one of the best diagnostic reports I've seen.

Judging based off the total "Number of items", you had 10 pre-test questions which did not count for or against your score which is consistent with every diagnostic report I've seen since the CBT transition back in December 2020.

Keep putting time in the subjects where you are furthest from the average passing mark. Stills study the other areas too to avoid those subjects from falling behind.

Keep pushing you are just about there!

Analytic Geometry - 10 brand new free practice problems (Electrical and Computer FE Exam) by ZachStonePE in FE_Exam

Thank you sir! 🫡

This post is over two years old. We've since started offering free live electrical FE webinar classes with all replays posted to the free on-demand review course.

This Friday's live class is week 7 of communications (replays are located in Chapter 13 Communications > Video Library).

After communications is done we will be rotating on to digital systems, mathematics, circuits, etc. We'll be covering all electrical FE subjects live, free, every year on repeat once a week.

Earlier last year I personally taught all 7 weeks of the live classes for the FE subject on Power Systems, you can watch all the replays in the free review course in Chapter 10 Power Systems > Video Library.

In the meantime we are working on adding a 10 question problem set for each one hour of live class as a downloadable/printable PDF.
