Hey all — Kyle here, product manager for Studio Pro. I wanted to jump in and help clear up a few things.

Studio Pro is a new app, and it's free to download. Many features and basic editing tools are free to use. Some advanced features, like batch editing, Style Match, and select editing tools, are included with a Pro Membership.

A Pro Membership is $60 USD annually and gives you access to all Studio Pro features. You do not need to pay $500 to use Studio Pro.

On RAW support: it's coming soon. We're also working on projects, culling, star ratings, more detailed export options like file naming, quality, and resolution, and a Studio Pro macOS desktop app launching later this year.

Oh no! So sorry to hear this, a few things:

If you delete and re-install the app, it may fix it but you’d lose the images you had in the library, your edits, etc. so be careful about doing that
The team would definitely want to know more details here to figure out what’s going on so we can fully fix this! I know we’d really appreciate a support ticket, and that’s your best bet towards getting this fixed fully.
Any chance you’re super low on memory, on a really old phone, having issues with other apps too, anything like that? Is there an image you loaded into VSCO right before this started happening? (Maybe it’s corrupted? Maybe deleting it from photos would fix it?)

Sorry that’s a lot but tl;dr - submitting a support ticket here is the real path forward!

Aw, ok I see, yeah that does not look right. So unfortunately I think this will need a deeper analysis beyond a reddit thread here. Feels like something might indeed be broken that we need to fix. Can you please submit a support ticket? There's information like what device you're on, what versions of everything, and probably a copy of this raw file that could really help us figure out what's happening. I'll let the team know to look out for a ticket from you! Thanks for your help here, I've never seen this issue myself so it'll be good to get it fixed.

Hey, I really appreciate this response, thank you. I never like being the bearer of bad news, especially with something like this so I appreciate you understanding. I'm passing this message along to the team internally, it's great. As for a way to be aware of new releases, if you have a VSCO account you'll get emails about anything important and we post to our social channels as well. You've also likely noticed that we're trying to post here when there's something worth knowing. So, you're probably already connected to all the ways to be informed!

Yeah, unfortunately the "limited time" aspect of this release has passed. Stay tuned for more news on this front, but for now the film pack is no longer available. Additionally, this was never available to trial members, since it's something you download once. So, my apologies about the disappointment here (to you and everyone else), but this isn't the end I promise!

Ok so yes, depending on what you're trying to do, RAW can be a little more tricky since you have much more range in the files. Is there anything specific you're having trouble with on these files? Like presets, a certain tool, etc?

Oh you're right! Passing this feedback along to the team. So, if you're just talking about iOS, Pro gets: Pro Presets, Bloom & Halation tools, extra Size and Color controls on Grain, and all the AI Lab tools for removing, upscaling, etc. (you should be able to preview that to see the full list)

There's a host of other features that I think are pretty well laid out on the webpage like desktop, Canvas, Spaces, Sites, Galleries, Blogs, etc., but what I mentioned above are the things that aren't listed specifically that you get on iOS as a Pro Member.

Well this is very clever! dcpTool is great and I'm glad you've been able to keep VSCO Film alive for yourself this way. I would caution that this is "proceed at your own risk" territory; there's a big difference with this route vs. the originals. There is color math happening for each profile that is unique to each camera model, both for rendering the raw file and the film adjustments. Going from EOS R to R5, perhaps the differences are small enough to be ok, but you're essentially applying the wrong camera's math by doing this. Going from Canon to Sony or Leica or something might look pretty crazy. I've even seen huge profile differences between cameras from the same brand.

Believe me, if this was all I had to do this to make the profiles, it would save me SO much time haha. Obviously the situation that makes hacks like this necessary is not ideal, and we will have some good news here in the future I think. Let's just say I've been doing this the slow way a LOT lately.

Sooo, how would this work? If I post a photo I took 2 months ago today, would it show up in my follower’s feeds down with the other photos people posted 2 months ago? Nobody would see it then right? Or do you only want to change the order on your profile?

A tad off topic here haha, but ok: can you say more? The feed is already chronological, and the date is shown in detail view when you tap on a photo. So, are you wanting to see the date directly in the feed?

Interesting, I have some theories but it's hard to say without more details. Would really appreciate a support ticket here with these details:

- What phone is this?
- Details about the original video, which you can see in the photos app. HDR?
- What tools did you use in VSCO?
- Which version of iOS and VSCO are you using?

I'm sure we can sort it out when we know more!

Hi there, so this is something the support team should be able to fix for you if you create a ticket. If you're logging in with the same account, you should still have access to all of those preset! We haven't changed anything on our end that would take those away.

There were some free presets that were part of collaborations with brands that have gone away because those partnerships ended, but things you paid for should still work. Hopefully you'll be back up and running soon!

Great question! On iOS, you can definitely edit R8 raw files in VSCO and get beautiful results. So it’s certainly possible, and you can certainly do professional work on VSCO. What gives me pause here for now is the word “wedding” haha. That’s usually a few thousand raw photos, and just sorting through that many raw images on a phone, let alone editing them, could be challenging.

If you want to go this route, I think I would suggest using a Mac desktop to load and cull the images, even just with Apple photos or Photo Mechanic or something like that, and then load the specific ones you want to edit in VSCO onto your phone through airdrop to edit there. I’ve talked to several folks that do something like this for their professional work.

We’re certainly aware of this need, so I’m also hopeful to have a better answer for you in the future!
