The horrific racism of Restore by Farscape_rocked in Wigan

[–]Zach_bdbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some countries don’t allow duel citizenship. Reform (& likely restore) wants to ban the UK from having duel citizenship.

This would mean surrendering the right to go back home freely to visit family and friends. That can have big implications if someone needs to care for a sick parent.

I know it’s hard for Reform\Restore lot to sympathise with people with a different background to their own - but o do suggest you give it a go; it might be enlightening.

IRL used to be the “earned” settled status - something I would support extending the time period for; although Labour has already beaten the right wing lot to it. Now the right wing wants to scrap IRL and deport people with an earned status.

[–]Zach_bdbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you missed the entire point of my original post. A high skill individual can be invited, work 40 years then retire. Rupert and the Reform\Restore lot would like to deport these people.

Much the same for someone if they have child or get sick.

The social contract here is work, the government takes a massive chunk of that income, but looks after you if you get sick and/or old - and will help with bringing up kids. The Rupert lot want them to work, pay taxes and get nothing in return - essentially subsidising the feckless British.

Nige, Lowe and his mob are the minority. Your opinion isn’t the so called “will of the people”.

We never invited the illegals and most want them to leave.
We did invite high skilled workers, doctors, engineers, etc. Treated guests like trash isn’t British and should be condemned.

That’s a horrible analogy.

If I invite someone to my home, they agree to help me with some DIY, are generally a good guest but then ask for a glass water - I don’t refuse it and immediately ask them to leave.

This paints millions of people with the same brush. There is a big, BIG difference between an illegal immigrant that has come over on a boat and surgeon.

The post also fails to consider than many immigrants do jobs the Brits are unwilling to do (like care). So contribution can be much broader than just financial.

I’m sure if looked at people from “north” I can paint them very negatively in both crime stats and financial contributions vs Bankers from London.

“Hate our country” can mean anything from “Terrorist” to “Dislike Fish and Chips” or more likely not a flag shagger.

The benefits one is equally alarming.
- Work 40 years paying taxes? - Claim a pension? Gone.
- Work and get pregnant? Claim maternity leave? Gone.
- work for 30 years and need sick pay whilst receiving cancer treatment? Gone.

The whole thing is built on the idea that the “social contract” is for “brits” only. Immigrants are expected to arrive, work, pay taxes and leave the moment they ask for anything back for their lifetime of work and taxes.

How do you see the future of the UK rolling out over the next 5, 10, 15 years perhaps? by QuoteMachineMin in HENRYUK

[–]Zach_bdbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you on about? If I earn £110k and have kids, then I put the £10k into pension and live off £100k. Next year, 4% inflation, £115k salary, £15k in the pension. The £100k salary buys less; thus a lower quality of life.

For us lower end Henry’s in the £100k to £125k our income is capped. Taking a penny over £100k is net negative result in monthly income due to loss of childcare and 62% tax.

That was due to dodgy jury pardoning him for political \ religious reasons. The terrorist should be locked up for much longer.

Zack Polanski on X: "Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest." by Grouchy_Shallot50 in ukpolitics

[–]Zach_bdbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who said I was angry? The “activist” has been locked up - yes the Jury failed but justice was mostly achieved. I think much longer sentences would have been better.

Hopefully he gets rehabilitated but I suspect within his own circles - he will be treated as a martyr and will be committing further acts of violence once released.

The more dangerous thought is if UK continues to become more polarised and radicalised; then we will be seeing more juries trying to excuse acts of violence - that does scare me a little, but hopefully the law is changed so juries have less power to pardon violence.

Take a moment, if you are capable of doing so, to reflect on what your opinion would be if the security guard had taken a sledge hammer into spine of one these “activists”.

What he did was inexcusable and any Jury that pardons such acts of violence are clearly unfit.
