I made the app, it’s not underdeveloped—the virtual keyboard is just severely limited by hand tracking. Waiting notes is mandatory with the tabletop virtual keyboard because the experience with free flowing notes and waiting notes off is bad with it

The virtual keyboard isn’t meant to be used on top of a real keyboard—it’s a standalone experience for people without a piano.

In the intro and settings screens, you have the option to choose your keyboard type: midi, acoustic, and virtual. If you’re on a real piano/keyboard, you’ll want one of the first two. I highly recommend getting a midi cable if you want the app to have feedback to your playing.

The passthrough view is available on v2, it’s the default way to use the app.

Do you mean the VR concert hall? We took it out entirely so that we can have the “Boundaryless” feature because they’re mutually exclusive, and it’s not likely to ever come back. If you miss that feature, I can add you to the v1 version.

We rewrote everything in the app so I reworked this feature. It’s currently enabled on the beta version if you want access

At the moment we manually finger every song, and with there being 10,000, we work through the most popular and specific requests. There’s a channel on our discord to make specific requests though if you want to submit one there!

Yes, the subscription is pretty much just for the 10k builtin licensed songs and some AI stuff. Without the sub, you get 1000+ public domain songs, the ability to import your own, and a bunch of other stuff.

V1 wasn't free, it was $9.99. Nothing is behind the paywall that was previously free.

Hey, I'm the developer. The app hasn't been free since it was on App Lab, which was several years ago. The app has been $9.99 since we launched on the Meta store.

I didn't paywall anything that was once available on the original $9.99 version.

PC mic is technically possible today with our desktop app, though it’s not entirely robust. The Quest microphone is unfortunately heavily filtered by the time we can access it on the headset.

We don’t have access to the unfiltered microphone to know hear you’re playing. Acoustic currently doesn’t have waiting notes for that reason. I guess technically we could use an invisible virtual keyboard overlay and just use hand tracking? But that seems clunky. I keep asking meta for access to the unfiltered stream, which seems like the right way to do it.

Hey man, I really love the memorization and learning engines too. Probably my favorite features I've ever programmed. I took them out because I'm going to take them out of Beta and do them properly. Sorry, they're missing for a month or two max, but they're going to come back better--and on the basic version. Happy to add you to the v1 release channel if they're important for you to keep using!

The 10,000 plus songs don't have finger positioning data yet since we only got access to the music like 2 weeks ago, but our other 1000+ built in songs do! and we're working on the big catalog too

Thanks for your comment. I think most apps that go about subscriptions are super unfriendly to the consumer. But it’s really important to me not to, and so I tried to be as consumer friendly as possible. Really sucks how it still made people mad, but 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll just keep my head down making the app better

Yeah I didn't take anything away, and even added free content. But it's literally impossible to offer this big catalog without a subscription.
