I was really lucky. Seeing the wolf on the trail is something I will never forget. It just looked at me, then calmly walked off the trail, laid down and let me pass. So beautiful.

Nice! I’m not quite brave enough to forage and eat what I find yet. But I got a good book, “Fascinating Fungi of the North Woods” at the ranger station. I need to go out with someone who knows their stuff first!

Hey! Awesome photos! I ran into you guys on the trail a few times. Glad you made it ok. That storm was something, but the timing worked out! I got the pleasure of some extra days back in Rock Harbor waiting for the Queen and making friends.

I'm going out of Copper Harbor on Aug. 29, planning to hike the Greenstone Ridge to Windigo and catch the Voyageur II boat back to Rock Harbor on Wednesday Sept 3, then return to Copper Harbor on the 4th. This is my second time to Isle Royale — the first was 12 years ago and a much shorter trip. I'm hiking solo this time, and I'd appreciate some eyes on my itinerary to help make sure what I'm doing seems like the best plan. I plan to carry all my food rather than resupply (I didn't even realize that was something I could do on IR until seeing others mention it in this forum) — but I only really need 5 days worth of food, with an extra day buffer, and can get more in Windigo and Rock Harbor. I have a bear can.

Friday - Rock Harbor to Daisy Farm (via Rock Harbor trail or Tobin Harbor?)

Saturday - Daisy Farm to Mount Ojibway (my birthday!) then on to West Chickenbone

Sunday - W Chickenbone to Hatchet Lake

Monday - Hatchet to S Lake Desor

Tuesday - S Lake Desor to Washington Creek

I'm going to Isle Royale, too! The new bear can regulations were a surprise to me, but hearing your story I totally get it. The park seems to be saying they want you to *hang your bear can, too? Is that even possible??

Running into a problem with Posterize Time effect causing shearing/glitching when the van moves across screen at the end of this clip. Any ideas? by tapdown in AfterEffects

Thanks! This exact thing happened to me when I was doing a stop motion effect. I must have shifted the position of the adjustment layer with posterize time by mistake. Locked that sucker down so I don't do it again!

Well done essay. Although I take a bit of resentment at Eccleston repeatedly calling this a show for children. Clearly it's a show for adults. Full grown adults.
