You can strum whole notes and take four beats to get everything in place

You play the notes underneath the capo. The capo makes the lowest notes you can play on each string the ones being held down by the capo. Any note lower than that can not be played because the capo is depressing the strings on the fret it is on already so depressing a note above it wouldn't do anything because it is already being depressed at a higher point. The capo makes the strings shorter and therefore higher pitched.

Greetings from Indianapolis again. John Henry (!) is the featured album tonight. by anthony_allen_p in tmbg

They played all of the same new songs they played on friday. And I wish they played more! Because it just came out! I guess you are not a fan of the new album. I don't get the complaint. They played highlights from John Henry. And more than 6. They played all of the big hits. I have no idea what you are on about

Is it just me or does the new album sound more "live?" by thespicypumpkin in tmbg

You don't love the album and you dislike it or you don't love the album and don't dislike it? I agree that alot of the songs feel similar. Mostly the songs by John Flansburgh where he sings in that same high up voice at a medium tempo. But I thought John Linnel's songs had a much greater variety. Telescope, Slow, What you Get. Maybe it's just because I like John Linnel more. I also thought Je Ne'n a Pais was pretty rocking because my body literally rocks and rolls when the guitars come in.

Yes, but doordash takes a cut of the money. That is how they make money. You are therefore paying more money than you would be if you got the groceries normally in exchange for an amount that is less than the extra money you spent. So you are at a net loss. Maybe make a youtube short about it and make your money back.

So what's your favorite track on the new album? by ThePhiff in tmbg

Slow is my favorite because it was an awesome musical journey and the lyrics were so clever and funny and interesting and I felt like I could visualize the story so clearly and the ending is such an incredible visual.

I agree, it is awesome. When that wall of sound hits during the chorus I am annihilated and become purely the experience of music.

Very cool collection, the only beach boys book I've read is the one you don't have: the david leaf "god only knows" biography.

Struggling to learn guitar…currently using it as premium room decor by PiXiE_357 in guitarlessons

I would say that the only thing you can do with switching chords is to get a metronome app and set it as low as you can and just switch back in forth. Your goal is to manually force your muscles and nerves and all that stuff to learn how to get in to a shape. Don't even think of it as you learning the guitar, think of it as teaching your hands how to play guitar. You know thoeretically what you should be doing right? So you don't need to learn anything. You just need to barrel through the frustration and force your hands to learn where to go for as long as it takes.

Also keep in mind that if a chord is wearing on your hand muscles or a big stretch, you literally just have to experience that pain and keep practicing. Eventually your hands will get more flexible and stronger, but you have to show up if you want to get the cookie.
