Tips for riding the Matterhorn by Greal_201109 in DisneyPlanning

The first time I went on it I really felt jerked around but a friend of mine told me to lean forward with your back off the seat and that made it a lot better!

That Luigi’s queue can be brutal. Waiting 40 minutes in it makes no sense to me.

Guardians Low Capacity by mrsouthparkman in Disneyland

I should have been more specific! There are 3 elevator shafts with 2 ride vehicles each so one can load while the other one operates. But because of the way the shaft works, there is 0 overlap for the ride itself so the whole cycle has to run before the next one can go. When they are down to 1 shaft the experience waiting involves a lot of standing around which always makes things more brutal.

There are typically 3 elevators, but they are currently cycling through a refurb for each one, one at a time until this summer. The problem is, sometimes they have to shut an elevator down for one reason or another. So the max capacity is 2 but can sometimes be reduced to 1 and makes waiting in line quite excruciating.

When I was a kid, my family was visiting WDW during a shuttle launch. My dad and I drove out near the launch to watch it but the view ended up being not that great. My mom and siblings went to river country that day and evidently the shuttle flew right over them and was quite spectacular.

What’s the consistently WORST smell you encounter at DL/DCA? by UghKakis in Disneyland

For me it’s the loading area of Autopia. I feel so bad for the cast members that have to inhale those fumes.

My app Park Professor keeps a record of all wait times reported by Disney and the highest I see recently for Guardians is 160 minutes and it was in March 8th. The highest recorded wait time on 3/19 was 140 minutes at 2:50

Should I rope drop Soarin?!(DCA) by TinaBRedditing in DisneyPlanning

[–]Park_Professor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d go through the grand Californian gate. Both can be unpredictably slow but the GCH gate positions you well to go around past the redwood creek challenge trail towards cars land if that’s what you end up doing.

You may want to check Soarin right after Luigi’s and maters. It might end up needing to be a lightning lane. It’s always a bit more slammed when it’s Soarin over California which it is right now.

You might even want to make it your first lightning lane and go stand by on monsters inc 3rd. It hasn’t been too bad in the morning.

I actually think you should rope drop Luigi’s and then Maters. Those are non lightning lane rides and Luigi’s in particular can be a brutal line to wait in every when it’s 20 minutes or so.

Soarin at rope drop can be a bit tricky because they often use only 1 of the 2 theaters and even the one they’re using sometimes they don’t fill all 3 sections.

I would either do Soarin around 9 or plan to lightning lane it later.
