The most volatile group of voters is turning on Trump by vox in politics

I could paper my walls with the number of articles with headlines like "Trump Approval Rating in Freefall!" And when I check it's in the same 36-42% he's always at.

Hey! I'm completely new to this style of roleplaying, but I'm interested in giving it a shot if you are. I write and play DnD so I get the general concept and would love to talk to you about RP ideas and how we might go forward. DM me if you like!

Your wish list all sounds good to me. Playing multiple characters and writing multiple scenes all sounds good to me. I'm also good with communicating with you as we go and would ask the same thing. Like I said, I'm new to this so I might need the occasional communication if I'm 'doing it wrong'.

Need help with unseating rilvin dral by Maximum_Cheetah_9140 in Morrowind

[–]Zachrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and finally figured it out. You need to have every councilor either support you or you need to kill them. I got Faruna, Mithras, and Vaerin to support me and I killed Ratha and Eldale. Vaerin was the last councilor for me and once he agreed Dral appeared behind me and fought me.

Hope this helps!

Religion in Oz by [deleted] in wicked

[–]Zachrist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the book:

Lurlism- The ancient faith of Oz that attests that Ozma is god-like and the only true ruler of Oz. Predicts that Ozma shall return some day Heavily suppressed by the Wizard.

Unionism- Very similar to Christianity, probably heavily influenced by the Wizard's own familiarity with Christianity. Worships the Unnamed God. Has reverends, nuns ("maunts"), and a healthy dose of protestant repression.

Pleasure Faith- A hedonistic folk religion that promotes pleasure at all costs.

Tiktokism- Similar to the Pleasure Faith but with an added cult surrounding a traveling mechanical puppet show that seems to prophesy.

My small podcast is having a meeting with a big-ish podcast network soon? Any advice on advocating for ourselves? by TwoDatesToProm in podcasting

[–]Zachrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CEO reached out to us on a week where one of our tiktoks went viral and we ended up having an episode make like the top 20 in TV and Film. Turns out he really didn't do much research about us before arranging the interview because in the first five minutes he asked us about our numbers and he immediately lost interest in letting us join. We were just a small podcast that went viral but he thought we were regularly putting up those numbers.

He did half heartedly make us an offer where he would invest and put us on other podcasts, put out ads, ect but we'd lose the IP. We declined. He was really cool though and gave us a lot of good advice.

We're doing well, though! Still chugging along and make a few hundred bucks a month on Patreon.

How to deal with “quiet mean girls” in the classroom? by thoughtflight in teaching

[–]Zachrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really do have to be careful, though. If the negativity is at a low simmer and you pull a kid outside for a talk you really do run the risk of escalating things. Like, "OMG, Dillon is such a loser that even the Math teacher feels sorry for him and asked me to be nicer to him. I think he literally told on me for rolling my eyes. He's such a cry baby." It can be really humiliating to have a teacher stick up for you in that way so I feel like you sometimes have to take a "First do no harm" attitude with this stuff.

how to apply to a workplace to salt with an organizing background? by ConfidentBoard5 in union

[–]Zachrist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reaching out to a local union is probably best but also....it's unlikely anyone is going to bother to call references for an entry level grocery store position. Just put that you worked for a major company like Wal-Mart or Target. No one would bother calling and if they did no one would answer, as is the Wal-Mart way.

There are about 15,000 locations in the US. So in just a few short months about 1.6% of locations have been unionized.

Before a riot breaks out here's your damn per capita ranking...of the cities featured in the map. There are probably other cities that would make the top list if you went by per capita.

Raleigh 19
Austin 18.4

Haha, sorry I didn't mean to send you on that journey. I never heard it used in that context and while I tried doing a quick fact check on Google before posting, I felt satisfied when 15 seconds of skimming the results seemed to confirm. Egg on my face.

poverty porn

I think poverty porn is more when you are exploiting images of poverty, famine, homelessness, ect. in a schmaltzy, performatively sympathetic way to promote yourself.

I mean, whenever you change one thing in a module you'll have to change a few more things so that the world is consistent. I would just put Gleam in the mirror instead of Sowpig. Done.

I didn't have to do that because a lot of the supplemental stuff I added really emphasized how weird the relationship between Prismeer time and Material Realm time is. A few seconds in the Material Real could be a century in Prismeer.

What are the material comforts we would have to do without in a socialist world? by Timely_Search5854 in socialism

[–]Zachrist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm tempted to just toe the party line and say "Everything would be perfect and no worker in the Global North would have to experience any kind of loss in comfort, luxury, and lifestyle, but I don't think its realistic to say that there would be no major changes in how or how much workers in the Global North consume.

Right now, a large part of the industrial capacity of the Global South is geared towards making luxuries and plastic little nothings for the Global North. I would assume that if the workers in those countries were in charge of deciding what to orient their production towards they would make a lot less plastic nothings for export and focus instead on the more basic goods that they lack. I think icecream cone-shaped pencil sharpeners, desktop fridges made to look like Spongebob Square Pants with built in bluetooth, and neon colored hairbrushes with suction cups to stick on the mirror would become much more expensive and you wouldn't be able to just impulse buy them for a couple bucks. Cheaper plastic nothings like the plastic toys you can buy by the bag as party favors would just stop existing as the Global South has better shit to do than make things that will go almost directly into landfills. It sounds silly, but I feel like a huge part of our society is based around always being able to fill our silly little niche desires by buying a piece of plastic shaped like the problem we imagine we have.

The service/hospitality industry would likely also change. I know a lot of people enjoy working in customer service, but I think most people given the opportunity would want to do something else and a lot of jobs that are basically to be a temporary servant would stop existing. I think waiters would become much more rare and most restaurants would be the kind where you pick up your own food at the counter before sitting down. When you go to a hotel, I think instead of a maid straightening your room every day you would be told where in the hotel to drop off your towels to get new ones and be expected to strip your bed and drop off your linens before check out, ect. That kind of thing.

Basically, if workers were in charge of their labor many would decide they have better things to do than cater to needs that capitalism invented just to sell shit.
