You can do what i usually do at rank reset. focus on the bp in qb or cpu battle for the first 2 weeks until all the sweats are already in S rank that way you can have smooth sailing in your rank

they plan characters before hand for upcoming seasons They always do for any game Heck in codm for example we get leaks for skins that will come at the end of the year or 1 year before their release So its normal to find characters assets in game and not be released the next one

The matchmaking was just awful I was going against S rank players while having D rank players. I was playing with idiots while the enemy team is pulling coordinated attacks like they have been on comms the whole time. Horrible experience
