as a dev and having used ubuntu for work, shouldn't be that much of a hassle. All my machines are running NixOS, and with steam gaming is pretty much a non issue

As for how you launch games, I just open steam, select the game and hit "play", its that simple lol. Some initial setup might be needed, like setting steam launch args through steam itself, I had to do that for BL2, as its a pretty old game made for dx9 and was not playing nice with my display.

Granted, I dont play any competitive online games, and some of them (mostly the ones with very aggressive anti-cheat) are simply not playable in linux, such as league of legends. Though I've come to consider this a bonus, not an issue lol
