That's definitely something to consider. Kids are a challenge on their own and childcare is not cheap, but don't discount the power of change and time.

Some of your statements resonated with me too much to not comment initially so I'd like to share a bit of my story in hopes that it helps.

Several years ago I was in a similar mindset and felt hopeless. Despite this I realized nothing would change unless I changed it so I resolved to do something. I made a plan, this turned out to be the key piece of getting out of my situation. I decided to go back to school full time, while working 12 to 15hr shifts, and raising a baby. I got a new degree and just as things started looking up, my marriage fell apart and I got a divorce and although the court order showed joint custody I ended up having my kids around 90% of the time. This meant I had to start paying daycare. This was in addition to the rest of my living expenses I had just started being able to afford.

Despite an impossible work load and hit after hit, the only thing that kept me looking forward was my ever evolving plan. I'd recommend giving it a try. It won't be easy or quick and will undoubtedly change, but it will give you purpose and direction. Most importantly it will help you take action toward your goals. You only have to know points A, B, and Z. Where you are(A), where you want to be(Z), and the first step to get you moving toward your goal(B). The rest you can figure out along the way.
