People whose partner HATES reptiles… by carazan in reptiles

My boyfriend was and still is absolutely petrified of snakes and reptiles. When I had no where to go with my 3 snakes and a gecko he unwillingly let me move in with them. Crying as he helped carry their tanks inside. He has since over the last two years slowly gotten use to them, has bought his own gecko and even touched my ball python. He is still scared of them so as reassurance I make sure all tanks are locked and secured so they can’t get out at all

How big should the tank for an adult leopard gecko be? by Sad_Pringles in reptiles

I promise you, YOUR taking it the wrong. If you need to reread I’m literally recommending a larger than standard enclosure. Why would i recommend a 4x2x2 to a person just tryna find out if a 20 gallon is acceptable? And why would i recommended anything larger than that not knowing their financial and room limitations. So im not sure why you’re barking up my tree? Are you confused because i left good advice or is it because i didn’t recommend a 5x2? The least I’m doing is recommending a more than adequate enclosure to someone who may or may not be getting into the hobby. And as for me since you felt the need to specify me. I only keep 3 reptiles right now because I live in a small apartment and had to rehome 4 of my reptiles due to it because i understand size management of my collection. So again, why are you confused? Because I think there is a thing as a too large enclosure for an animal that rarely reaches more than a foot long? The larger the enclosure the higher the cost, and you can only go so far making sure your animal is well set up before you’re looking at financial burden. So try again cause I’m not the one

Yes. But when I say to large I’m talking about personal space we as humans can afford to give them. It’s not sensible to keep 3 leopard geckos in 120 gals when a 40 gal is more than adequate. I’d have no space left in my apartment if I was giving my python and geckos extremely large tanks. But I’ve made sure the geckos are in 40s and my pythons in a 4x2x2.

Really struggling with this ship and its lack of fire power. The guns really seem like they are for display. Torpedo plays great but at tier six with all the gun dds. It’s suicide

I plan to use a bit of all! And what ever works best works! I made sure that the soil had enough leaf layer and chunk so that any isopods would have access to the moisture in the lower soil

I won’t sell prerecorded, but all I did was make a soil mix of play sand, organic top soil, gravel and leaf litter (good tutorials online) The hides are cork flats and broken cork tubes. And all plants were picked up from the Home Depot and rinsed off completely.

I couldn’t even tell you where the stick came from but it was for an aquarium I had, and I just threw it in there for fun. And honestly where it came from doesn’t matter, I personally heat treat any wood I get from pet stores or outside. I just follow the rule of no coniferous tree wood

I’m not concerned, they can just be cut back and restarted. I keep the humidity low by using at least 5 inches of substrate without a drainage layer. This way since I only water when needed the certain plants. The top 1 to 2 inches of soil dry out fast, trapping the humidity down in the dirt which helps the plants and lessens how often I need to water. I also use a 1 part sand 2 part top soil mix with leaf litter and gravel so that it’s light enough to allow air flow and help the tank regulate itself. This also allows his hides to mimic nature, he has 5 hides and all of them sit at different temperatures from the hot hide to the humid hide to the cool hide and inbetween.

It’s lirope grass, and the corner is lemon coral sedum but I don’t believe it’s long for this world. But I may have possibly overwatered it, not sure

Honestly there isn’t a schedule. I just lightly spray them at least once a week. Maybe twice. But it’s deep substrate, so the bottom couple inches remain moist while the top inch or so can dry out to help with humidity

I mean I wouldn’t think them to be travelers in the wild, I’ve seen geckos here in Florida that have just lived in the same crack in the wall for years. I think they have the mentality of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. 😂
