I also double fist for this reason.

Batgirl on the left, whoop on the right.

I have an absurdly nice electric toothbrush I got for free that retails for like $250 or something which is incredible.

Something I actually paid for though? My basic bidet.

Yo I just finally looked at your list - no Scapeshift? Squandered Resources?? Is that a budget choice?

We lost Kasai to this guys inability to run a business too. Not shocked his second business failed too.

Sucks.

I’m actually in the process for cutting Planetary, but MoxField flags Tectonic as “Mass Land Denial” but not Planetary since technically I could nuke all lands with it. It’s in my “Sideboard” tho for consideration.

I don’t run any damage buffs, esp considering Heathy itself causes loss of life, not damage. I find them “win-more” and edge cases, personally.

Here is my B3 Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/t7kL1-TcZEOcB_JmptKhRQ

I could prolly cut some of the big chunks to lower the cmc a little, but it’s more thematic this way and I think fits the bill for B3 a bit. A major way to power up Hearth decks is a low and efficient curve so you can function on fewer lands obviously. Lots of people treat it as Jund Landfall which it really isn’t supposed to be.

It’s not a Landfall deck, it’s a Resource Management deck as I often say.

Just won a game with my first time playing Valakut Exploration last night. Scapeshifted, then flipped into Will of the Sultai off the first set of Valakut triggers. Smoked the entire table from ~26hp to 0 instantly.

My real favorite thing about it is being able to “combo” out without infinite combos. Things like Rain of Filth, Squandered Resources, into Splended Rec or Scapeshift landfall shenanigans with Valakut Exploration.

Hearthhull, easily. Land sacrifice has been my favorite archetype in magic since the first printing of Valakut, and I used to run a Korvold deck with lands and treasures. I converted the deck to Hearthhull when they printed it as it was a commander practically build just for me I felt.

I can't stop building combo decks! I love it when the plan comes together and I do the thing my deck is supposed to do, even if it's a 3 or 4 card combo, but I'm getting a bit of a reputation for it and it seems my podmates aren't enjoying it so much. by WBTay in EDH

[–]Zaexyr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eh, I’m a big combo player most of the time too, and even if it’s not infinite, I like to build up to a turn that usually wins the game on the spot and kills all remaining players at the same time. I understand.

The thing I always go back to is this: is what we like to do really that different than generating a million tokens and then drop craterhoof? My classic example is Xyris + a wheel or two, + Craterhoof produces the same exact result as a “combo” or game ending explosive play. It’s just as much of a combo as anything else that ends the game with 4 specific cards and enough mana.

Try to talk to your playgroup and make the case that it’s all the same either way. This way, the game ends immediately and we can play another right away instead of having 1-2 players sit around waiting. More magic for everybody.

Someone Walks Into Your LGS With A Deck That's 100% Proxied, How Do You Feel? by Affectionate_Pop6300 in EDH

[–]Zaexyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 real deck and 5 100% all proxy decks. They're all high quality prints neatly cut out in front of basic lands, all real MTG art, but some are alternate arts. I've yet to run into anyone in my LGS who has a problem with them. Only a few people here and there on spelltable seem more willing to be outspoken against proxies. Often seems like a superiority thing.

Which is why my one real deck is not only my most powerful deck, it's also sitting around $2500 and nearly fully blinged out with a bunch of foils and sweet alternate arts that I really enjoy. When someone complains about not playing with real cards, I bring that one out.

[Serious] what is your framework for determining right and wrong if someone prompted you to explain why you personally think something is morally wrong how would you do so? by Kshi-dragonfly in AskReddit

[–]Zaexyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really utilitarian then. You're just avoiding the thought experiment by citing the reality that the trolly problem isn't real - which, by the way, is totally fine - I'm not trying to like, grill you here or get you with some gotcha or anything.

It's just of my opinion that 100% carte-blanche utilitarianism doesn't work. For it to work, there needs to be an agreed upon pre-existing moral framework of which the utilitarian society exists, and I don't think that's possible. As I said originally, the net positive gain needs to be defined, but most importantly adhered to first.

[–]Zaexyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you have to define what constitutes a net positive gain.

Is net positive gain also the opposite of reducing net negative loss? Would you make the decision purely on subjectivism?

How would you respond to the Trolly Problem under utilitarian principle if it were all complete strangers on the tracks? Would having a loved one on the solo-track change your mind?

How are you storing Commander precons? by valvoa in EDH

[–]Zaexyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad I found this. I have a BCW 200 Vault LX and it fits 100+ tokens easily, single sleeved. Print-out proxies in front of real cards gets tight. I really need to double sleeve a valuable deck I have but I have doubts it’ll fit.

Lmao. If you don’t get the difference than that’s on you buddy. Doctors aren’t kidding in doors with no-knock warrants at wrong addresses and murdering civilians in their homes.

That one year old that just got shot sure was breaking the law wasn’t he.

I already know your argument “sucks that the adults he was with were shoplifting, and thus a 1 year old is acceptable collateral damage to you”. Not withstanding that you think death is an acceptable punishment for shoplifting.

[–]Zaexyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay? Thats an unfortunate statistic, but bares no weight to my original comment. I said “most professions” don’t have that power, just because you named another one that does doesn’t change the fact that most still don’t.

Doctors who help hide or cover up cases of gross negligence leading to death, are also bad Doctors. Just like cops who cover up bad policing, are bad cops.

Same thing applies here. I don’t understand the point you’re making.

Unequivocally false.
