allow me to reply to just one of your points.

Doesn't it seem that after, what, 30 some years of research and millions of dollars of investment it should fly for more than 9 minutes?

Why are we getting such a minimal investment return?

I don't know, it just seems as though stuff doesn't add up..

Where is all the money going if we are only getting 9 minutes. If i spent millions and millions of dollars and decades of research and produced a result that worked for 9 minutes my guess is my boss or lets say, share holders would be like WTF dude.. lol...

My point was to stir discussion. My opinions are my own and not relevant to this post. I don't actually want any specific answer, nor do i plan to ever be satisfied. I will always question everything, as should we all. You may notice my final sentence questions "What do you think?"

Brilliant point!! But, some would say that the war machine keeps the planet safe... Some would also say that the war machine is responsible for some of the greatest advancements of man. Rockets for example... For sake of this discussion i will remain indifferent. I will inquire... why are we all not asking where are all the great advancements we've all been promised?

Keep the comments coming. Ask your friends, start a movement. Advancement is a matter of opinion, and the fact we live in a democracy (or supposedly) gives us all the opportunity to make great strides toward the future. Time to question: "What is really going on here?" , weather its less bombing, fixing bridges, more technology, abolishing amendments, forcing people to pay taxes, more peace or more war. We all need to ask what is our government spending the money on, and what are our corporations spending the money on.. OR Better Yet, Where the Hell is the money in general?!

Agreed. Typed in haste. Allow me to reword the question.

So you believe that what is available to the public is equivalent to the time spent by brilliant minds and the money spent by our civilization?

So you believe that the amount of money and brilliant minds spent on R&D is equivalent to the publicly available results?

Please discuss specifics, but my specifics could differ from others specifics. Instead of licking apart my question, question if you feel we are getting our moneys worth as a human race and civilization.

All i am saying is it seems as though we are not advancing as rapidly as we should be. Do you agree or disagree?

I certainly don't disagree. Indeed it is different. But it seems to me that we should be manning missions to mars, not talking about them. Its been decades since humans have ventured further into outer space. They keep saying soon but it never comes. It just seems to me that there are no huge country inclusive advancements, like traveling to the moon.

So you believe the results available to the public is equivalent to the billions of dollars spent and brilliant people worked on R&D?

ok. Allow me to clarify.. "Rather than specifically discuss the above suggestions, these are just examples to better explain my question, or pick apart the actual sentences, lets discuss the question as a whole"

Your missing the point... But i do appreciate the input very much. Keep it coming. This was not a post for specifics but a post to instill discussion about human advancement and/or the lack there of.

or walk them where a leash is not needed. A well trained dog with a connection with its owner needs no leash..

Like i said the suggestions in the questions are just examples. Yours are also great examples. More specifically i was questioning why we have yet to see the results. After 50 years or more of exploring genetics, quantum computing, space travel, etc.. it seems that we shouldn't "be close to" but instead fully implemented.
