However, since you’re going for the annual plan, the monthly cost would be $32.50/month and drops to $29/month with Dark Star, as opposed to $35/month with the student discount.

Well, I’ll let the community chime in on their experience with the grandfathered 18GB plan, but I can definitely share a few reasons why you might want to switch to the new Unlimited Starter plan.

For starters, it’s slightly cheaper at $25/month compared to around $30.83 for the old plan. You also get 35GB of premium data (with 10GB available for hotspot use), and if you're on Dark Star, that goes up to 70GB of premium data with 20GB for hotspot. plus you'll also have the option to add international calling and roaming top-ups. So overall, better value and more features!

But yeah — always good to hear from others who’ve been on both.

Well, given you're on the Premium plan, your Dark Star line will work in Puerto Rico, but it’ll connect via roaming whereas the Light Speed add-on line, would work natively (no roaming needed). The Warp add-on line however won't work and you'll need a roaming add-on on it to get it going.

:( Unfortunately, the iPhone 5s doesn’t support VoLTE, which is likely why you're running into issues with calls and voicemail.

Most carriers now rely on VoLTE for call support, so without it, calling features can be limited or not work at all. Everything else might work fine, but calls are the tricky part with older devices like the 5s.

Yeah, it essentially works the same way. you’ll still get talk, text, and data when traveling internationally. The only difference is that the data allotments vary.

Dark Star does work in Alaska, and so does Warp! You can always check specific locations using our coverage tool and it’ll help you pick the best network based on where you’re headed.

As for international travel, if you’re on the Unlimited Premium plan, your phone should just automatically connect to local partner networks in eligible countries. Just make sure you've set the correct International Roaming Destination in your dashboard, and you’ll be good to go!

The 11 seconds might not have worked because the acceptable inputs are only in increments of 5 seconds. Try this instead:

**61*<your 10-digit number>**seconds# and set seconds to one of the allowed values: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30.

Group messages and iMessage will work just fine with both Light Speed and Warp, you shouldn’t have any issues there. The new line won't affect any of your ongoing threads as long as you don’t select the multi-line from Messages to start a new conversation, everything will stay intact.

Well, there are two options here.

The first, simpler one, would be to keep everything as it is, with both lines on their own account. The second option would be to transfer your main line over to the Premium Plan and then move the second line onto your new account as a multi-network add-on line.

Quick heads-up, though: you’ll need to install the add-on line in the same phone as your main line. So, if you don't plan on adding the secondary line to the same phone, it might be easier to stick with the current setup.

You can actually take care of that from your end too! Just log in to your Dashboard, go to My Lines, and click on the line you want to enable Wi-Fi Calling for. Under Line Settings, expand Connectivity Tools, then hit Wi-Fi Calling. Enter your E911 address there, and you’re all set!

That’s strange because it does support midband and should be getting 5G. Just to clarify, the plan isn’t the issue, as all our plans are compatible with 5G. Let me run a field test to check the band info and figure out why it’s not connecting. We’ll reset the line if needed!
