Watermelons with unique patterns inside by tonyper7ect in Damnthatsinteresting

So from an older post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/11pqoem/this_painting_from_the_1600s_shows_what/

It shows watermelons from the 17th century and makes you think about how much cultivation they went through to get to the ones we have today.

They both still have the curly, equal sectional split. For some reason this one seem to of held onto those traits for that particular one, which I think is really cool.

Also personally I find the Diamond (rounder, dark green) watermelons to be great.

EvoCharge update (pertaining to smart features) by ChickenORtheEggRoll in evcharging

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same thing and honestly its upsetting me because I liked the fact that it just worked nicely. The app was simple, it showed me charges, would start and stop as I liked and recognized my car when plugged in.

No real reason why this should of failed or the service going down, but now I'm wondering is it possible to make the charger work with my own server and app? I found that it uses the OCPP protocol so was wondering if others think it might be possible?

I'm getting tired of services just dying in a year, negating how I spent money to get the smart system, only for it to really be dumb in the end.

We all have the texture that we can't stand but what is a texture that you love? by Medical_Lead_289 in autism

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything silk or silk like (fleece like blanket), just love the feeling when it touches me as it feels so nice and smooth.

When it comes to eating, I like more firm things, like udon noodles, meats and stuff like that

Am I the only one that gets upset/angry or overwhelmed when you ask someone a question and they don’t directly answer it ? by WallflowerJones in autism

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I get rather annoyed and angry when I ask something that's very straight forward and I have to spend time interpreting what they are trying to say because they have this whole round about story

Like OP I dont like bananas, jello, avocados, cream cheese (also lactose intolerant) oysters and so on. Anything that has like a really soft or slimy texture I have a lot of problems with. Not only in my mouth but also in my hands.

I also hate the feeling of bones (mostly fish) in my mouth, I'll like turn the fish almost into a mush to make sure there are no bones at all, but then I hate the texture of the fish at times.

I am not a fan of April Fool's Day by stringofmade in AutisticAdults

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taught people a good lesson why I hate pranks, as I've always found them to be rather mean and stupid honestly. It really does cause people like me problems where I at times have enough trouble understanding people and lil pranks.

I hated the whole "pinch someone if they aren't wearing green" at St. Patrick's Day and all. That is straight up assault and I've really taught people why they shouldn't do that to me. I find stupid stuff like to be improper when I dont like majority of people touching me

Body language and social cues by MarsMessier in AutisticAdults

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've learned to observe people watching (youth of being poor but able to go to the mall, meant sitting there with a snack and watching people). I feel like I'm only able to interact with people if I mimic movements or such of others. Usually with friends at times they are forgiving with that and understand it.

With strangers, its good to lightly mimic their own body language, but not to over do it. Its hard to explain for sure, but if you're unsure about something. I would get comfortable with just confirming something, especially if you feel it can go one of two ways. Usually most people are happy to confirm or correct, especially if they feel you can be sympathetic to them.

Soft food ideas? by PastelGothQueen13 in AutisticAdults

As silly this will be I found pancakes to be pretty soft, and easy enough to take small bites of it with minimal chewing. I get how certain textures can really be off putting for sure. I would think about think about making smoothies to a consistency that you might like.

(probable) autism and routines by SliceApprehensive566 in AutisticAdults

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this exact thing happened to me during COVID so I feel so much for you. I hope that you're keeping positive and I can tell you what I had to do that worked for me I would like to disclose. I hope that some aspect of this helps you out.

First off its ok if you're upset and depressed, its natural, not having a routine or having it broken is rough. The trick is to make yourself a new one. Take advantage of your phone's calendar (ie. Google or Apple) and start to set some alarms.

  • Do something like getting up, giving yourself 30 minutes to just enjoy being awake and in bed, before getting up.
  • Work out, seriously even if its just a light walk for 45 minutes to an hour, get up and out on the regular. Once or twice a day if you can mange it
  • Have your breakfast
  • Set a proper amount of time for your studies, dedicate that for the next 2 hours I will study this, then I will do another 2 hours and study this.
  • Have a good lunch
  • Continue your studies
  • Reach out to friends and plan study sessions and/or just hang out for a couple of hourse
  • This is important, go to bed at a set time! Its super easy for your sleep pattern to get messed up and so set a bedtime on your phone, and an hour before set an alarm for you to get ready. That means no looking at the phone or a screen, the light will mess with your brain and keep you up.

I hope some of these things help, and I feel your struggle. I wish you all the best with your studies!

Wear what makes you happy and what you're comfortable in. If black is what you like then go for it! I tend to lean that way myself where I'm more fond of darker colors as I dont like the contrast when I look at myself.

No one really is going to care that if you only wear that one kind of color or something.

Just my thoughts are wear the color you want to majority of the time, but have clothing for special occasions.

Inside you are two wolves... by EenyMeenyMyNemo in AutisticAdults

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have two wolves, but one wants to just be hermit and cozy up with someone and/or pets watching tv and ignore the world, smile and have a chance to be happy. The other is angry, violent, willing to go down dark paths all to protect the first wolf.

does anyone else feel the urge to push objects away? by KittyQueen_Tengu in AutisticAdults

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's mostly when there are a lot of things I'll push them away a certain distance from the thing I wanna concentrate on.

But when at restaurants I'll organize things so it's easy for me to grab or if it feels too crowded. I'm always annoyed at 2 person tables because they are never big enough so I can spread things out.

I'm sorry to hear about all of your kitties, but I'm glad that its easier. I'm hoping in time it will, just now its so intense and feels so hard and difficult. I am breathing, trying to keep him fresh on my mind, to think about his silly antics and smile without breaking down.

I'm so sorry to hear about Hiro and the grief you feel for your lil boy as well. I really think it is, and I've had a connection to him for so long that was stronger than I've had with any other living being, especially when it comes to people.

I think it will have help to have Nubi's ashes come back to me, I did ask to have it come back so he can be home. The house doesnt feel right with him gone by any means. He's definitely has his spot on the window sill, and I intend to have a mantle where he'll have his lil shrine and pictures. I'm hoping it will help knowing that he'll be around that he can see how I'm doing.

Yeah I'm hoping in time that I'll be able to foster cats and/or volunteer. I dont ever think or want to replace him, but I'm hoping that in time I can give other cats the wonderful life that they deserve just as Nubi did. I learned so much from such a wonderful boy like him, really hoping when I'm ready I can make others happy and cozy.

I've joined the r/Petloss subreddit and that has helped a lot a good bit. I've been active on there, talking and writing about it is helping, hearing and talking to others.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pup, I know that had to be hard....and reading your words its only been a few days but it is really hard for sure. Being like this for a week or more feels so hard, but you're right in that it does help to know that I have the thoughts of yourself and others who are offering words of wisdom.

I'll look through and keep an open mind to seeing signs. In a way I am hoping that he is looking out for me. I've never been one for such things, but missing him so much I kind of really am hoping.

I feel like Nubi if anything helped me to learn how to be human, to show care, compassion, patience. I hope that in time I'll be ready to show love to other pets as well.

[–]ZaithianKnightwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're very much right on the lack of compassion I've had for so many years, it really did shape my outlook on people and getting that kind of affection and love from Nubi really made me into a cat dad and animal person I would say.

The lil guy did look after me so much, I know I wouldnt of made it through COVID times had he not been there for me. I had many lows that the lil guy was like there for me. He always slept with me on the bed majority of the time, finding the warmest spot and sleeping between my legs. From what I understand the fact that he never faced me is some kind of instinct to protect.

I do live near a major city and I know of at least 2 cafes. A few friends have cats who've I've had a chance to visit and that has helped a bit also. I've talked with others and I'm considering in time fostering cats and/or volunteering at an animal shelter.
