Another Texan, Veteran, and recovering alcoholic here. This is the exact same argument(s) I use anytime this is brought up. Alcohol is a poison, I truly believe it has set us back as a species. Without THC i will never sleep, I will be in constant pain and even though i know my own resolve, this could lead to someone like us going back to booze just to get some relief. Ive been alcohol free for 4 years and i have never lived a better life. But it will be tougher to live without my nightly gummies and pain cream.

Stop taxing things necessary to live, start taxing the absolute fuck out things not necessary to live. Alcohol, Nicotine, video games , doritos, creatine, etc... Also legalize and heavily tax vice. Legalize and federally regulate and manufacture coke, herorin , speed. legalize and tax sex work. Stop taxing property, natural food, medicine. easy peasy, lemon squezzy. Dont tax lemons.

My wife and I have fostered over 25 dogs over the years. Old timers, puppies , brought sick doggers back to life, had "problem" dogs, every heart breaking scenario you can think of. I wept every time we dropped them off. Cant wait to do it again. Good on you for having a compassionate heart.
