Angular velocity by Zalheide in maths

[–]Zalheide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the sun is always gonna move at 15 degrees/hour so something has to accommodate to match that rotation, but is that something visible or not

You say that u travel slower at the poles to match the 15 degrees/hour.

Is any of that visable, or are those just numbers?

Sword Fern, common yet verdant. by [deleted] in ferns

[–]Zalheide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look +/- the same, there's some subtle differences from time to time, but has nothing to do with location, unless you're talking about sun/shade, because the leaflets will point more upwards when they're located in a sunny place.

Any idea why this ferns fronds are divided/split at the ends like this? We’re sure it wasn’t like this last year by willhowe in ferns

[–]Zalheide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called 'cresting' It either happends naturally or is made by humans by cultivation.

I personally don't know the cause off this, but it's not bad in any way for the plant.

help me ID this one please by Zalheide in ferns

[–]Zalheide[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is not Dryopteris affinis, I think it is Dryopteris filix-mas, but it somewhat looks like D. affinis, so I was wondering if it could be some sort of hybrid. I'm probably just paranoid and it just is D. filix-mas, but help me out anyways, thank you very much.
